Moment of Surrender is no "meagre tune"

Peter Paphides' album review in the Times of London is off the mark. I am especially troubled by his dismissal of "Moment of Surrender" as a "meagre tune." The song is U2 at its finest -- an uncluttered, infectious melody that tackles weighty issues with deft irony and brilliance. Very much a...

MERGED-->Why are U2 FANS being treated as SCALPERS?+Presale Prejudice

Presale Prejudice I think it's wrong that those of us who used our presale code out of desperation -- to buy two nosebleed seats -- can't again use the code to buy two tickets for the 3rd leg. I know that this applies to a lot of people....

    SYCMIOYO - My Take

Just heard SYCMIOYO for like the 100th time. My muse has been inspired: 12/9/04 "Sometimes You Can't Make It On Your Own" might very well be U2's most memorable ballad. A gut-wrenching, soulful lament about the death of Bono's father, the song skillfully defamilarizes the frustration...

Flood Should be Fired for COBL

what a terrible mess this song is. the sound quality and production are god-awful. what the hell was flood thinking? i can't hear anything larry mullin is doing in this song. so much potential down the drain. in the tradition of several songs off Pop, I predict COBL will be on U2's Best of...

"City of Blinding Lights" Sounds Overproduced

The live BBC version of this song sounds better than the album version. Bono sounds a bit tired throughout the song, and his voice isn't in sync with the music at all. The song sounds patched together, and the bridge is awful.

    "Tonight"

I noticed that Bono loves to sing the word "tonight"-- "Sunday Bloody Sunday" ("Tonight, we can be as one, tonight"), "A Sort of Homecoming" ("I'll be there, tonight... tonight"), "The Unforgettable Fire" ("Don't push me too far...tonight"), and now "City of Blinding Lights" ("You look so...

    COBL All the Way!

Wow--COBL is an incredible song. It sounds like a track straight from "The Unforgettable Fire." I've looped it a dozen times and can't get enough of it. ABOY has a contemporary flare to it, much in the vain of "The Fly" or "Elevation," but COBL sounds like it was written decades ago. Bono's...
