I've heard wits once on radio I think. It could of course be that I don't listen to radio very much, but I think I've heard Saints about 10 times. So based purely on my experience saints is doing better than wits over here, and I have to say that it surprises me. I would have put my money on wits:)

I agree, I think it's the best song on Help! I had missed this game (I should check Just the Bang and the Clatter more frequently), but it sounds interesting. Given all the talk on this board about wits sounding beatlesque, I wonder if it is compared to masterpieces like Tomorrow never knows...

I think wits and saints are better produced than any song from ATYCLB or HTDAAB, so I want Rubin to produce the next album. I think the two latest albums are over-produced, and Rubin should be able to stop that from happen again. And maybe the album would be done in less than two years:)

I have to say that I'm impressed by the production on wits. I didn't care at all for 400 when it leaked, and I still don't do. Of course it's hard to judge a beach clip, but I was pretty sure that 400 would never show up on any album. But it did and it sound way better than I could have...

True, the intro (most of it at least) is in 6/8. Listen to larry playing it on rattle and hum, he puts his sticks together five times between every hi-hat stroke. (1+5=6.) It changes to 4/4 in the last part of the intro. On the album the change from 6/8 to 4/4 comes roughly at 1:10. If anybody...

I agree. I think it will do rather well on the radio the next month(s), but not longer than that. Not close to being a masterpiece, but it will do its job and get attention to the compilation. Kind of like Sweetest thing I guess.
