Couldn't have been said better! I remember nodding to my younger brother when the song came on at his first Vertigo show. Wake Up does the same thing for me now every time I hear it. It's now part of the U2 experience! I hope they play it in honolulu!

I can't help but commenting that "Bad" has to be in there as a milestone, though maybe not a "turning point" per se. The emotion and intensity of this song played live really put Bono's emotion out on his sleeve, foreshadowing songs like "With or Without You", "One", and "Please" to name a few...
