Completely private care a la US system is available, as well as supplemental care policies which can cover a lot more than you mention, things like elective surgeries for which there are otherwise long waiting lists, not to mention surgeries for more urgent items.

I've lived under the NHS system in the UK for many years; first employer who got me a discount on private health care I jumped all over it. Will never go back if I can help it/afford it.
