Then why didn't Jesus just tell it that way? I don't get the guy. Why didn't he just say, "look, I'm the way the truth and the life, no one in this culture at this time gets to the Father, except through me." For goodness sake, he said this less than 24 hours before he was killed. "His time"...

And yet there are many that do. Jesus himself said "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." What's up with that?
