I agree totally with the comments stating the Grammy awards being based on internal politics. That is so true. Besides, musical tastes are just too personal & subjective, in my opinion, for an elite, insider group to essentially try to tell everyone what they should be listening to, by bestowing...

Coldplay is one of the best groups on the music scene now. I have detected a U2 influence, but so what? They are obviously not copycats, have their own unique sound, and most importantly, put out great stuff.

I agree that Bomb was the first U2 album to dip down to the boring level. Still, there are those handful of songs on it that are very good, such as COBL, ABOY, OOTS (Vertigo is pretty decent, as well). I don't understand the claim that ATYCLB is full of filler (particularly the 2nd half)...

Funny, I always thought that Vertigo was just a little too much in the vein of Elevation (although certainly not soundalikes). I'd give Elevation the edge, but not by much. Vertigo is one of the better cuts off the disappointing Bomb album but neither of these two songs deserve to be considered...

I like this song too. It fit the movie which was also great.

Lists like these are always judgment calls. How can you really compare very good albums having such a diversity of individual styles? I personally believe that Boy is a great album and probably deserves to top the list as much as any of the others but who's to really say? I do take issue with...

By the way, my idea of the weakest cut from Boy is Shadows & Tall Trees. Only there does the album drag a little. I still like it though.

I think Boy is one of their three high points (Joshua Tree and Achtung Baby being the other two). Their songwriting was not yet as sophisticated as it would be later on, but even though the songs are somewhat simpler, this is not a bad thing. These songs are still very fine ones and quite...

I'll second ATYCLB as a great one and I don't understand those who say the 2nd half is inferior. Those are some powerful songs. Even Grace at the end provides a quiet, reflective conclusion to this wonderful album.

Sounds cool. Judging from the past, these side projects have produced some good stuff - seems to keep their creative juices flowing.
