Ok I've just realised what they are trying to do here. It hit me while watching the new Disney doc they did with Letterman. This is Bono and The Edges take on "U2 do Ed Sheeran" to get back to the top of the Pop Charts. In that way it makes absolute sense and looking at the album charts its...
When you have run out of creative ideas then the answer is not to go back and see if you can destroy your back catalogue. Boring versions that start the same way, Edge strumming an acoustic guitar, that go nowhere. Amazing to think this is the same band that gave us Achtung Baby, Zooropa and...
Definetly more shit. OK there's a downward trend from 2000 onwards and HTDAB was a mediocre effort by their earlier standards but even that's a good listen compared to the crap they're coming out with now. This is a new low along with that crap they released for euro 2020. Its hard to believe a...
U2 really are shit now aren't they. Not satisfied at trashing everything with their last 2 albums then that euro 2020 crap they've now plummeted to new depths of crapness with this rubbish. Just stop now please cos you are just destroying your legacy even further. To think this band made great...
I think u2 could have easily done without the last 2 bland albums. Full of forgettable songs similar to what Coldplay have been releasing since the Viva la vida album. SOI and SOE and the release format of SOI damaged U2s legacy without doubt.
I'm beginning to think bono was right when he said before they released SOI, does anyone need another U2 album. With the mediocre last 2 albums and this utter crap effort I would suggest we really don't need another U2 album.
I like the first couple of minutes of this track but it seems to lose its way. The overuse of the "you are rock and roll" line towards the end makes me want to press the skip button. Missed opportunity, could have been great but I think they ran out of ideas half way through this track.
