April 14th, Glendale Arena in Phoenix

Ugh, they just keep raising that temp up. I checked on Saturday and they said 88. So much for that. But the fountains in front of the arena are functioning now, so bring your swimsuits ;)

April 14th, Glendale Arena in Phoenix

Yep, I believe it's still technically in Glendale. I don't think Peoria starts for another few miles up the road.

April 14th, Glendale Arena in Phoenix

Traffic update as promised in the other thread. Glendale Avenue (The street the arena is on) and Northern Avenue (the next major street North) are all messed up at the Grand Avenue intersections. So if you're coming from someplace East of 59th Avenue on either of those streets, I'd suggest...

    Phoenix (Glendale)

Yes, Northern has tons of traffic in the morning, but fortunately most of that is moving towards the the freeway, and you'll be going away from it, so it shouldn't be too terribly bad. Unless that Super 8 is on the east side of the freeway, in which case you might have a little trouble getting...

    Phoenix (Glendale)

U2fan05, Northern and I-17 all the way. It's a much better neighborhood than Mcdowell and 51st Avenue. I'd advise very strongly against anyplace around Mcdowell and 51st. There's a couple cheap places at Northern and I-17, which one are you planning on? It's right down the street from me...

    Phoenix (Glendale)

Yep, what do you need? U2Fan05, as long as you aren't on Bell Road, the traffic shouldn't be too bad. Depending on where you're going to be staying in Peoria also has a little bit of an effect. Downtown Peoria is sometimes busy, though I woudn't reccommend staying in that area anyhow. North...

    Phoenix (Glendale)

I gave a couple calls back a week or two ago, and pretty much got the run around. Just kept getting handed off to other people, no real answers. I'm going to give it another try a little closer to the concert dates, hopefully someone will have some idea of what I'm talking about by that time.

Here's a thread about cameras from a little bit ago. Goes over some of the things you wanted to know. http://forum.interference.com/t112318.html

MERGED-->March 28th, San Diego Fan Gathering

I was thinking of going to Sea World or the zoo on Tuesday. It's also still going to be whale watching season down there during the concert, so I was thinking of going on one of those on Saturday. They have one that's only like $25, and guarenteed sighting or you get a free pass for another...

    Phoenix (Glendale)

America West Arena does have a more central location that's probably a lot more friendly for out of towners, but in all reality, that place is a huge pile of crap compared to the Glendale Arena. Overall, the traffic is going to be a lot less terrible around the Glendale Arena, as opposed to...

MERGED --> eBay weirdness + Why is Glendale so "cheap" on e-bay?

Well, first off, I don't think as many people from out of town are going to be coming to Phoenix, as there are going to some of the other cities. And it also seems like a lot more GA's for the Vancouver, Seattle, and Phoenix sales went to fans, rather than ticket brokers. Don't get me wrong...

    Phoenix (Glendale)

I'll give them a call sometime this week, or find someone at the arena when I go to the lacrosse game next weekend, and try and find out what their policy is going to be regarding that.

    Phoenix (Glendale)

I'm pretty sure the closest lodging to the arena is the Best Western in downtown Glendale, which is about 4 miles east of the arena. Downtown Glendale itself isn't too bad, but it's kind of a small island surrounded by not so great neighborhoods, and the Best Western is really kind of pushing...
