although i haven't seen it in person yet, ultraviolet is my favorite u2 song, and just from the few youtube clips i've seen, i am drooling over it! bono does indeed seem like he is really pouring himself into it, and the effects are awesome for it.
I also hear alot of 80s type sounds in there too, and while someone else might have already mentioned this in another thread about the title song, did anyone else hear the guitar riff from The Fly in it?...
I think you nailed the sentiment I have about this album, ZOOTVTOURist. There are so...
This is better than Bomb... that's for sure. That's after one listen. One thing's for sure, Bono's voice is great, regardless of whether the songs are or not.
I just listened to it on headphones instead on what i thought were high quality computer speakers. It completely changed my opinion about it, there are so many layers to it and now I really like it. You can make out the lyrics better, the melody, and just overall how everything blends...
listen to it on headphones... it sounds unbelievable on them. i didn't like the sound either when i listened to it on u2.com on a nice imac, but after plugging headphones, it sounds really really good.
Sorry if someone mentioned this already, but hasn't Bono mentioned that this album is a balance of dark and light and that balance exists in some of the songs too? So maybe the = sign is simply conveying that since it's smack between the 'sky and sea' or light and dark. It's definitely...
I think the idea of avoiding setlists is a good idea simply because it kinda brings back the unexpected joy you get when they play a rare song. Last tour I almost knew exactly what songs to expect before I even went to my first show... although there were a few shows where they played some big...
i will say this in regards to them 'still having it in them', i saw them six times over the course of the vertigo tour... four times during the first leg, then twice during the second NA leg. the second leg was ALOT better than the first, and after listening to the tokyo show from 12/4/06, it...
i think it's hilarious that bono did this, and it's written in such a style that only he could pull off... only shows that he's still a character. personally, i don't remember bono ever calling 'bomb' the most complete and radical album. i do remember him saying that the edge was on fire...
Headache, as a fellow Giant fan... I am emotionally, physically, psychologically, and spiritually exhausted. Even if you aren't a Giants fan or a Patriots fan, that was one of the greatest games you will ever see. Both teams fighting down the stretch in the 4th quarter, exchanging touchdowns...
i am not an economist... sorry for starting the whole 'cost of living' debate. the internet has made it very easy to 'steal' music that otherwise was only available at a store, very true.
however, i am also aghast that some of you think it's OK to steal because of that... i won't judge...
