Obviously the mix on some recordings has a lot to answer for. Just search the videos for The Fly from ZOO TV tours - different TV recordings appear to emphasise the drum sound or the guitar sound which is a shame because I loved that Brady snare sound when it was right. One at...
I was trailing through youtube U2 concerts a while ago and, I'm pretty sure of this being a US leg of the original Joshua Tree tour, that they played WTSHNN without the guitar picking intro. It just appears to start up mid-set. Does anyone know which concert this is?
Just watched an outtake of Rattle And Hum of One Tree Hill (not the official one that didn't make the film) and you can clearly hear the timbale being used on that one too. Always wondered why he'd only have it for one song (ASOH).
Yes I know this. ASOH clearly shows the timbale being played. I dont think I was clear enough on my last line there in previous post. I played the snares off for first half of Streets. Then I should've said the correct use of the timbale is for A Sort Of Homecoming.

Don't know whether you can see this but very interesting about what had to be done for Larry to have a comfortable set up to play for SBS. I was quite surprised it was jerry rigged rather than a specific bit of equipment.
