I distinctly remember an interview where they mentioned smoking hash during the Pop sessions. I think it would be naive to assume that they are squeaky clean. I mean, there is quite a difference between smoking a few J's here and there and doing lines of coke or handfulls of pills every day...

As far as I can tell, that is definitely "modern Bono" singing that. Perhaps he purposely sang jibberish to make it sound like a real "working track", but there is a depth to his voice that definitely was not there in '82. It's a cool track, though.

The only area where I'd agree (that it's a rip) is in regards to the remixes. On one hand, it collects all of the officially-released material under one roof. But it's also quite redundant, especially when all of the versions are back-to-back. Surely they could have dug up something more...
