Bono wearing bulletproof vest on stage?

I agree in a sense...I was just curious because i thought the odd-shaped bulge was obvious...in the post-john lennon times i guess rock stars can't be too cautious...it is a shame there may be crazy people out there...i hope it was just bono getting a middle-age paunch!

Bono wearing bulletproof vest on stage?

Interesting...never heard of "men's girdles"! Heard of kinky men who may like to wear girdles (perhaps Bono's former business partner, Mr. Pussy?), but that's a whole different thing! :hmm:

Bono wearing bulletproof vest on stage?

Melodramatic? Um, no...but when posting links to places like for bootlegs, for example, people always leave spaces between the letters in their links (as in r a p i d s h a r e .com, or some such variation for similar sites). I do believe the site does not allow actual working links to bootleg...

Bono wearing bulletproof vest on stage?

I was watching a clip of New Year's Day from the 27 July Dublin show on YouTube (if i post a link it will probably get deleted, so just look for the clip posted by U2006; should be easy to find). At about 3:35 into the song, Bono lifts his arms, and if you're watching the clip in full screen...

That David Byrne, always starting controversy

Selective Quoting... Well, of course no one "needs to" spend loads of cash putting on a giant tour. But by that rationale, all non-utilitarian activity - all art, all music, all entertainment, all sports - should be banned because no on "needs to" do them and the money could be used for more...

    Interesting fact about Zooropa album

Wish they would play a full band version of Stay rather than doing the Bono-Edge thing. Dirty Day and Lemon were fabulous live in Sydney. The Wanderer at the Johnny Cash special was great too. I think it would work well as an encore.

Those hoping for Drowning Man, from Willies Diary (all Drowning Man discussion here)

Frankly, Willie, I'd like a "double-whammy of beautiful melancholy". Hell, I'd like a whole concert of "beautiful melancholy" "Beautiful Melancholy" would be a good album title too! I do wish they'd at least ditch Vertigo, Pride, and Elevation! And they need to play "Crazy Tonight"...

    Not impressed by the set-list!

You left out Love is Blindness as the closer. That's what I'm talking about though - start with a full onslaught of new stuff; an opener that wasn't a rockeing hit single (or potential single)...challenging and adventurous coming after JT and Lovetown tours. Bullet, Running, and Streets weren't...

    Not impressed by the set-list!

Judging from the album and the pre-show hype (what happened to the supposedly stunning new live version fo Drowning Man?), I was expecting something more adventurous than the standard U2 Greatest Hits setlist that we've had for the last couple of tours. Instead they gone with a very tame...

    Will we hear Fez LIve

I was rooting for Fez-Being Born as the opener. The Fez intro as the PA music while they come on stage (fading out with the repeated "let me in the sound..."), then the band taking the stage and bursting into Being Born would be amazing. I also wanted Cedars of Lebanon as the closer... :(...

MERGED - > Opening night issues/ Bono's Outburst - What do you make of this?

Sounds better than most first shows to me, judging just from 128kbps mp3 audio. Hope a lossless will surface soon. Haven't they been reheasing for a lot longer than usual before tours, including full dress rehearsals with the stage. If so, they should have the songs down pat by now.

Barcelona I Setlist Party (and show discussion & thoughts) Part IV

Disappointing setlist given the hype Judging from the pre-show/rehearsal hype, I was hoping for a more adventurous setlist this tour. What happened to the new Drowning Man version everyone was raving about? Looks like they opted instead to just go for a version fo the U2 Greatest Hits setlist...

    Are U2 a "white man's" band?

LOL! is the guy who started this for real? Duh...rock'n'roll bands will draw more whites than blacks It's not racist to point that out, just a fact; just like rap groups and r&b groups will draw mor black crowds. what's the issue here?

Re: Eno and Lanois writing credits

mmmmmmm....White Castle  (especially at about 3 or 4 AM after a few beers!) I am from the hometown of White Castle by the way, Louisville, KY (and KY is also the home state of Dallas Schoo! Woo hoo!). And yes...White Castle Fries do only come in one size! :))
