U2 and Music Information
Too many U2 faves to list.

Other music I love: Nick Cave, Sigur Ros, The Cure, Will Oldham, Leonard Cohen, The Dirty Three, Crime & The City Solution, Einsturzende Neubauten, Johnny Cash, Rosanne Cash, Smashing Pumpkins, The Smiths/Morrissey, Joy Division, The Pogues/ShaneMacGowan, Hothouse Flowers, REM (but not post-Bill Berry), Jane Siberry, The Waterboys, Radiohead, My Bloody Valentine, Loreena McKennitt, Edith Piaf, Gregorian Chant, Gustav Mahler, Anton Bruckner, Bach, Beethoven, Mozart, Berlioz, Arvo Part, Henryk Gorecki, Zbigniew Preisner, Valentin Silvestrov, Schoenberg, Berg, Webern, Schubert, Messiaen, Shostakovich, Tchaikovsky, Rachmaninov, Stravinsky
Favorite U2 Album
Joshua Tree/Achtung Baby/Unforgettable Fire (can't pick just one "absolute fave"!)
Favorite U2 Song
Bad (live, esp. The UF & Lovetown Tour versions; Live Aid is best single performance ever)
Been a U2 fan since
1987
Prized item in U2 collection
Vinyl copy of Boy with orig. cover (i.e.not the crappy USA cover) bought in Ireland. Plus my soundboard quality CD of the New Year's show in Dublin 1989 that I bought in Prague. (I also hightly prize the over 100 or so live shows I have on CD)
Favorite U2 lyrics
Hard to pick just one song, or even album. I'd say Joshua Tree, Achtung Baby, and Pop are Bono's best overall lyric efforts, with Zooropa getting an honorable mention (especially The Wanderer).
Favorite U2 band members
Always thought Adam seemed like the one I'd like most to sit in a pub and have a beer with (alas he doesn't drink anymore!); but I'd love to meet any of them in a setting actually allowing a chance to chat, not just get a handshake or autograph
I was introduced to U2 by
Became a fan in 1987 at age 13 after hearing Joshua Tree (esp. WOWY on the radio and MTV). Been hooked ever since!
U2 shows I've seen
Four: Chicago (Sept. 1992), Columbus (May 1997), New Orleans (Nov. 1997), Lexington, KY (May 2001). Alas, the closest they've come to me since 2001 was a five hour drive away! Come back to Lexington (or Louisville) this time! (or at least Cincy!)
Have you met U2?
No. I lived in Dublin for a year during third year of college, 1994-1995; went to Windmill Lane, Vico Road in Killiney, and some pubs I heard they occasionally hang out in, but alas, never met any of them. (I did have a few drinks at Mr. Pussy's Cafe de Luxe before Shane MacGowan's Midnight at the Olympia show in November 1994, which was incredible! Tried to get into The Kitchen and Lucy's Bordello, but the bouncers were wankers!!!)
Propaganda member?
Yes
