I enjoy reading, have a love-hate relationship with sewing (specifically costuming - I'm something of an anime and sci-fi con junkie), and spend way too much time playing video games and poking at the internet.

U2 and Music Information
All of the "when did you become a U2 fan" and "what is your favorite song/album/member" questions are incredibly difficult for me to answer as I have no definitive answers. As a child of the 80s, I grew up listening to U2 but it wasn't as if I really knew I was listening to U2. Everything was just another song on the radio, something else my mother used to hum along to. Nothing really clicked into place until I borrowed a roommate's City of Angels CD and absolutely fell in love with "If God Will Send His Angels". After that, I realized that other things I had loved - "Sunday, Bloody Sunday", "With or Without You", "She Moves in Mysterious Ways" and various other radio hits were by the same band.

Even then, I didn't really become a FAN until seeing them live for the first time during the Elevation tour, and I didn't start digging up every single cover, remix, live concert and whatnot until midway through the Vertigo tour. That said, I'm still very bad at the "die-hard fan" thing. I'm easily swayed by other bands, periodically lose interest in U2 and frequently don't jump back on the bandwagon until AFTER they start touring (which can make acquiring tickets very difficult).

As for favorite songs and albums, this varies depending on my mood, the weather, the time of day and the music I want to listen to. "Pop" is usually my favorite album for summertime, "Achtung Baby" and "Zooropa" when I'm feeling quirky or want to be productive, "Joshua Tree" when I'm feeling melancholy or romantic, the early albums when I'm frustrated. Of course, you can't really pigeon-hole an entire album and there are bits and pieces that I find better suited to different moods. And some days I put everything on shuffle and listen to it all.
Favorite U2 lyrics
"And you can dream
So dream out loud
You know that your time is coming 'round
So don't let the bastards grind you down"
Other Bands
This is a dangerous question as I will listen to just about anything. Currently, my most-played artists include popular bands like Muse, Garbage, Depeche Mode, Massive Attack and Rob Zombie, foreign bands and artists including Buck-Tick, Indochine, Vartina, Ojos de Brujo, Natacha Atlas and many, many others, various gothic and industrial bands, anything composed by Chopin, a few jazz artists including Charlie Parker and Miles Davis, and a random handful of indie artists and lesser known bands including Justin Sullivan, Iron & Wine, The Decemberists, and Robert Downey Jr. (Okay, so just about everyone and their mother has heard of RDJr and he's not exactly a lesser-known celebrity, but not many people know he has a full length album.)

Let's not even discuss my secret love for tacky new age bands and various techno/electronic artists. =P
