Me thinks the band view it as a companion piece to AB. It's inclusion in the AB box tells me it ain't gettin its own release.... unless of course they want to release Sydney AGAIN in a few years on blueray, then they might think about it.:D
They HAVE to know it sucks. JHC, Jimmy F'in Buffett has been broadcasting his shows over the net for several years now. ALL of them. U2.com act like they're pioneers or something.
Yikes, I went to BMore instead of Phily because it's easier in and out of town. That's just me though. I can't stand the schuylkill (sure kill) expressway.
I was there, and did something I swore I'd never do - get seats instead of GA
I guess it's sort of like KFC, every once in a while you need to be reminded how much it sucks. I stood through most of the show anyway, and with seats it's impossible to get away from A-holes. (like sec150...
It's a great idea, but U2 are simply not on stage long enough to make it work. I was in Baltimore earlier this month to see Springsteen. He did the entire BTR album. But it didn't take too many slots away from the setlist, given that he played for nearly 3 and a half hours and did 30 songs...
AB: Larry's equipment. Did he bring pots and pans to the studio?
JT: Not including Spanish Eyes, S&G, and a few of the other b sides was disappointing, but not their fault. A double album was out of the question, and they were still confined to the shorter time limits of the LP record and...
Bill Berry's absence might not have ruined REM, but they are by no means the same band. Save for a few songs, Up, Reveal, and Around the Sun were just plain bad. I've not heard much off this new release yet. I'm hoping the rave reviews are accurate.
Even though they elected to leave it off, they still should have finished it back when they were recording HTDAAB. They could have gotten it on a movie soundtrack or a charitable album. Reworking it now when they are supposedly moving in another direction musically could prove a waste of time.
