    The wierdest thing a non-U2 fan have said to you about U2.

    While watching the Slane concert on CBS: Mom: "All of those people.....they didn't all come to see him (Bono) did they?" Me: ?? *************************************** One guy online... a loooooong time ago on the Rolling Stone website, replied to one of my U2 posts and argued that "The...

    About Schmidt.

    Kind of ambient.....I loved it. I thought Nicholson was great (as usual), and Kathy Bates was hilarious. It has a lot of emotion, and really goes to show that life of "quiet desparation" that it is said men really live. In light of that, it has some great laughs, too.

    'Blanket commutation' empties Illinois death row

    I'm not quite sure how I feel about it. Anyone guilty of child-murder is worthy of the death penalty, though. It would be nice if the governor had done something else heroic, like boosting funds for teacher-pay.

    Question about the afterlife...

    GREAT subject!! Although the thought of dying scares the piss outta me, this is one of my favorite subjects (the afterlife, that is.....not the process of getting there). The story of Sam Kinison's death is very, very interesting. The friend who was holding him while he was having this...

    Did Lee Harvey Oswald Act Alone???

    Lone Gunman? :drool: Suuuuuuuuuuuure it was a "lone gunman", and he had a bag of Magic friggin' bullets!! I'm certain Mr. Oswald's statement, "I'm a patsy, I'm a patsy!" was completely uninspired right before he lost his life. I really think that Kmart sold those magic bullets at one time...

    MERGED--> Joe Strummer has passed + RIP Joe Strummer

    :( the good ones always seem to go early. At least he wasn't the victim of a crime. Definitely one of the best modern songsters.

    About 6,000 music fans walk out on Creed...

    "booing" a band I live in Memphis........where a certain other band was "booed" horribly. If I recall, there were several thousand folks there that night, also........ NOW that group is the #1 rock band in the world. A roomful of people booing is just annoying. But, you know they say, "the...

    MERGED-->Audioslave Rocks! + Gasoline

    cornello and morello :censored: yeah, they rock! It took me a few listens to get used to Chris' strained sound on some of the tunes, but it just is one of the best cd's I've heard in a while. Hope to see them. I'd still like to hear them with more socially-conscious lyrics, but I ain't...

    Harry Potter

    Pottery I'm troubled by the whole "witch hunt" thing that so many Christians do. (I'm family, so I will not hesitate to criticize...my dad was a preacher & I've been a Christian since around 8 years of age). It seems that fundamentalists always have to find something to be "against", while...

    Michael Moore's "Bowling......"

    Has anyone else seen this movie? What did you think? Was Charlton Heston treated unfairly? Just wanting some opinions & observations. Hope all have had a Happy Thanksgiving!!

    MERGED---> Audioslave + off topic---Audioslave

    Feeling quite stupid right now for having posted my "audioslave" question in the wrong place.....anyway, as I posted there....I dig the first 4 to 6 songs....just amazing....but I'm thinkin' Chris C. needs to relax the vocal cords awhile....sounds waaay strained on some of the screams. (listen...

    Ms. World Violence

    One more reason that fundamentalism of any type is a problem. The First Amendment should be a "law" in all religions and with all peoples. I'm a Christian by faith (weak example, but faith nonetheless).........you may say what you will about my Leader. I can handle it. So can He, in terms...
