^ I agree... but this always seems to be the way on the 'TV warm ups' ... I'm hoping it will be more in your face by the time they work it out live
 
Awesome. Have they played anything else? I assume Miracle and EBW are a lock. Does anyone ever get 4 songs on Jools? Perhaps friday?

Question for Ax - if they play another song from the album (being 6 new songs overall) would that be the most they've played from a new album on a promo tour?
 
Great that they're finally playing Volcano live, it rocks, but the wild cuts make me go crazy, it takes away more from the performance than it adds.

Very good version, but I'm sure they can work out a way to make it better.

Zola Jeesus was just .... meh ... I normally like her music. Now Interpol. They sound very good :up:

Because the acoustic version is beautiful?

It would be equal with HTDAAB, which got six songs on its promo tour in 2004 - despite that promo tour having only seven shows (same number as this time, so far).

Was the bridge good? That's literally the most/only redeeming part of the song IMO.

It was alright, the edge's guitar rift really lacked balls though
 
Just saw it... hmm.

They haven't quite figured it out yet. Just feels a bit "small" so far, like they could do much more with it. Bridge wasn't as awesome as I thought it would be, and it just felt empty at times. We need Edge to go insane on that bridge.

But that said, it's great to see them performing it live.

Also, am I seriously hearing overdub vocals on the "vol-ca-no" from the album? Really? Or is that Edge? Sounds like 3 voices to me, and one is Bono's vocal track from the album.

...which they've never actually said. You'd think if they were doing that, they'd make a big song and dance about "if you loved this performance, you can get it now on the deluxe CD! Go buy it!"

Most casual listeners probably don't even know there's a deluxe CD and just think it's a stripped down version of what they already got for free.
 
I would've rather seen North Star on the album in place of EBW.
