Thora if you try the squid let me know how you like it. :giggle: I've always been tempted too. I remember seeing this pic a long time ago. From California too. :sexywink:

I will! I found a good sounding calamari recipe, so I'll be buying the squid today.

 Nice pic. That just looks SO dirrrrty.

LOL!

I think your frozen squid looks a lot better than those cans though. Something about canned squid sounds really nasty. :yuck:

I didn't realize those were canned squid. :der: That's definitely gross. I'm really picky about seafood, so I'd never eat it if it came out of a can. :yuck:

Okay, time to get up off my ass and go get my groceries. I'm going to treat myself to a Tim Horton's coffee this morning, since it's Roll up the Rim to win time. I miss being able to play every day.

I wish I could have visited a Tim Horton's on my trip last summer. I only saw one once as we flew past on the highway in Canada. You guys always make it sound so yummy! I don't think we have them in the USA do we? Is it only Canada?

I think there are a few in the super-North. They did a lovely job of keeping me alive last summer, but I hit a SBux as soon as I was back in the US. :reject: (I went in one in Niagara, but frappuccinos were like SIX DOLLARS, so I waited.)

ETA- That's $6 Canadian, which is like fifty-four thousand dollars in real money.

How did you NOT get to one on the way to or from Maine to Moncton. You could swing a dead cat and hit like 50. That's Irish for 10. They could not understand the iced coffee process. It was painful.

They don't have iced coffee?

I swear we never saw one, except the one I saw on the way back, but we didn't stop.

I survived mountain biking! It was fun - hard but fun. I almost fell off a couple times but managed to stay on the bike the whole time. We did a loop twice - my friend led the first time and I led the 2nd time. He learned my favorite curse word! But yes, I am cactus-needle free!!!! :yippie:

It's fabulous, and really cheap! As the others have said, there are a few on the East coast, near the border. It hasn't done as well in the States. I had a coffee and a donut. Didn't win a prize with my coffee, though. Oh well.

Ahem. Our dollars are on par right now, missy.  And I agree - Starbucks is WAAAAY too expensive. Since I can re-load my card with PayPal (you can't do that with Tim's cards, unfortunately), I'll put some money on there every now and then, depending on my PayPal situation. I'm part of a Target research team (they're talking to a group of Canadians in the lead-up to their stores opening here in the next 2 years), and I get paid every month for the surveys and other things I do online for them. It's pretty cool. It's just a very little bit, but hey – every dollar counts and adds up!

And speaking of ridiculously expensive things, at the gas stations around here, it's costing about $1.40 today. WTF?! Just the other day it was around $1.15. DO NOT LIKE.

:crack::scream::sigh::crazy::sad:

It's very windy today

It's VERY windy here too. My car was tipping slightly as I was driving around. :crack:

Aaaand, of course as I've been typing this, we lost TV/internet. I'm sure the power won't be far behind. I'm going to copy this to a word document so I can save to post it whenever we get civilization back. Until then I guess it's DVD or books time. :)

Oooh, yay it's back! I don't know for how long, though...

Wait whut? Is that a typo? Gas is $4.15 a gallon here right now.

(And that's if you find a cheap station, the average is much higher!)

I know I've been MIA for about a week, but that is due to the arrival of FroBaby!

For those who haven't heard (via FB or LJ), Jaclyn Irene Johnson arrived on 2/18/12 at 9:50pm, weighing in at 7lbs, 2oz, and measuring 20in long.

We're all doing wonderfully (if not a bit tired), and I am slowly returning to having time to be online.
(Hopefully someone's kept Adam company for me!! )
