Ashley bought that record at a garage sale for a couple of bucks last year and never listened to it. Shameful. I never had much interest in it myself, although the Beck original is pretty excellent. I love just about anything he's put out by now; I wish he'd stop covering classic albums and start making more of his own.

On a totally different gear, I'm listening to Music From Big Pink and am regretting that I still haven't watched The Last Waltz. I have no idea why I haven't. It's hard to find, I guess. Or, at least it was before the local library picked it up. I love the Band and Scorsese and see no reason why I shouldn't be watching it instead of posting here right now, so maybe I'll go find it in the morning. Or evening, depending on when I wake up at this point.

23 fucking pages.

Jokes/references/etc that I got some enjoyment from.

Imps.

One extra strength vitamin duh

Mofo, someone just referred to SLC in a not so kind way in another thread. I know you don't live in the city proper, but, I still get the feeling it was somehow a thinly veiled shot at you, and by extension, everything you stand for and probably everyone you hold dear.

:)

The best cover version of California Dreaming:

Peef is right, that Howie B mix of Discotheque was rubbish. Does everyone else here just despise the fact that he doesn't sing "mother fucking rock n roll" in Mofo?

For the record, our last thread's total of 1063 wasn't quite Hall Of Fame material:

Lemonade Stand Archive - U2 Feedback (sorted by Reply Count)

We did make the Top 10, though.

I hope you realise our BEST thread in terms of post count has ME in the TITLE.

Bono has attractive daughters.

I said this in EYKIW is wrong once. "I'd tap that". I think about six people put me on ignore.

Birthdays are stupid, though, so, whatever.

fuck you :madspit:

That Malkmus song is the absolute fucking tits. I love it. Straight on facebook.

Anyone heard of Duologue? A mate posted this song to my wall, it's pretty fucking awesome. They don't have a wiki page or anything.

That's interesting you say that. On a similar note, just the other day I was asking myself why the hell I have yet to sit down and watch Scorsese's Shine A Light. Even though they're older than shit, how fucking awesome would it be to see the Stones play a full set at some little theater? Damn.

How good is Shine A Light, for those of you who have seen it?

What I should have said is that I don't really get any enjoyment out my own birthday. Other people's birthdays are great. Yours is great.

Yeah, not only have they already played it on TV, they've already played it on Letterman.

Different version of the song, yes, but still, it would be weird if both times the cast showed up on Letterman they sang a version of "Rise Above."
oh. I didn't know about the other Lettermin performance. My bad.

Are you trying to imply that sweet ass Mustang's spoiler's purpose isn't also to keep that thing on the ground and not flying in the heavens with Pegasus and other similar creatures of beauty and wonder?

This made me laugh super hard in the break room at work. I received some looks.

That made me laugh.

I have this saved in multiquote, but I don't remember what I was going to say.

Thanks for the reminder. I'll listen to it today.

What I've seen of Shine A Light was absolutely great.

And, as always, we can NOT set Mick Jagger on fire.

Not only will the mixmaster take to the decks for a full 90-minute set inside the spinning orb of the Shadowsphere, accompanied by the mesmerizing display of projected graphics and images, DJ Shadow will also hold a Q&A session before the show, open to all ticket holders.

In addition, the first 500 ticket buyers will receive an exclusive, limited edition 10-inch vinyl souvenir.

To end the stellar night, a signing session will be held post-show.

The ticket price of $50 + booking fee includes DJ Shadow full set, entry to the pre-show Q&A, access to a limited edition vinyl souvenir and the post-show signing session.

IT'S FUCKING SOLD OUT

Seriously I'm about to cry I reckon. Shithouse long day and this email was sent to me at 3:54, when I was at work. Just reading it now.

Would it be any better if I got Travis to tell you how badly his set at Pitchfork went?

It would. But I imagine he'd be better in a small club (Prince is tiny).

But I see in the top right corner "Onsale to General Public Start: Thu 21/07/11, 09:00"

He's playing the night before at The Palace, but those tickets are $80, there's no Q&A, no signing, no 10" and the only collection method is pickup at venue (FOR AN EXTRA $8. HOW FUCKING DISGUSTING.)

So you just missed the super awesome package? :therethere:, I'm sorry man.

No, pretty much what happened at P4K was that his setup doesn't work too good in the Sun, and even though he went on at 7:30, since it's the middle of summer, it was bright and shiny outside. Added to that, he was having some major technical difficulties.

The reason I said you'd have to have Travis fill you in, though, is because I missed his set to try and keep my good spot for Fleet Foxes, but ended up by the soundboard anyways, so I'm kind of mad at myself about that still.

I took it to mean the presale for that super awesome package has sold out but there will be limited tickets available Thursday morning. Guess I'll be up early. I was actually coming in here to ask people if I should go it alone, and then decided I absolutely would given what's in the package (and that I could get him to sign my deluxe copy). So they better not have sold the 500 for the 10" already.

In other news, only $300 and $400 tickets (less fees) are left for all three Roger Waters shows, so I'm definitely not going now. :(

COBL, there's no kind of ticket resale place for the Roger Waters show? I know I'm biased, but I don't know how you can pass that show up.
