New preseason is just a version of the 1996 Lightning Premiership held at Waverley, a splendid little novelty in which Brisbane Bears played and lost to Essendon in their only senior Grand Final. They did win the reserves premiership in '91 (which is a game I'd give anything to watch again.

I don't think it's a horrible idea, a lot of food for discussion. It will be unlikely and I'm not sure if the Turks will turn up in a flood to see it.
 
Seeing as Jessica Watson's return is swamping the set coverage of WB and Sydney I'm just gonna put up the live scores here.

Early 3rd - WB (66) vs. Sydney (32)
Mid 3rd - Melb (36) vs. WCE (43) - looks like a scrappy slogfest by the score, unsurprising when you play Melb at the MCG.
 
Oh my god, Eagles v. Saints. I really don't know what to think of that match.

And holy shit, Geelong, want to beat Brisbane by any more? Just about made them look like Richmond there.
