Ooh, this is a juicy one. I'll second So Cruel. And the following also deserve a lot more recognition:

Elvis Presley and America - for its trippy, moment-of-discovery vibe. Making it up at the microphone should be no bar to recognition for this song, IMO.

Miami - Three words: 'Miami, my mammy'. And the nice take off When The Levee Breaks.

The Playboy Mansion - Again, for its vibe. And because of these lines: "I never bought a lotto ticket/I never parked in anyone's space/The banks they're like cathedrals/I guess casinos took their place".

Red Light - Because U2 with a trumpet and those urgent, rising backing vocals does not suck - it is, if anything, damn sexy.

Surrender - If only because nobody outside of hardcore U2 fandom has even heard of it.

Love Rescue Me - Bono's howl. And the swing of the horn section. And these lines: "No man is my enemy/my own hands imprison me/Love rescue me".

Dirty Day - Who said Zooropa had no rock guitar?

------------------
"There's a wild thing in the woolshed
and it's keeping me awake at night
A devil in the closet
and a feeling I'd prefer to hide
He is religion
He won't hear me when I cry for help
He has a vision of me
but I am somebody else..."

Hmmm Im not sure if these fit, but Shadows and Tall trees, and An Cat Dubh/Into the Heart... People never say anything about them, yet theyre great songs in my opinion.

I think most people forget that "North and South of the River" is more of a Christy Moore song than a U2 song.

I think "Please" doesn't get as more recognition than it should.

Also songs such as "Surrender", "Mothers of the Disappeared", and "One Tree Hill".

All of October--I never listened to it really until a week or so ago...now I can't stop!

Love Rescue Me--whether or not you like the music, this one has an incredible lyric

I would add So Cruel to this list, as it is one of my favorites of all time (of any artist)...but I think this one is highly regarded enough by those who really count....US!
