Maria all the way. So sad Kim didn't have the goods yesterday, her serve let her down. I'm not much of an Azerenka fan....

I had a great day at the Tennis yesterday, think I'm gonna get a membership and go multiple days next year :)

I still wish Fed/Nadal went to 5. Still felt as if there was so much more great tennis to be played in that.

I admire your effort but that has been such an overdone joke the past few days that it's not even close to being funny anymore.

bono_man2002 01-26-2012 07:58 PM

That took half my lunch break, and you just.....just shot me down like that.

Vlad n U 2 01-26-2012 08:01 PM

"I admire your effort".

How long is your lunch break?

I just can't wait until the newspaper tomorrow and on Sunday.

bono_man2002 01-26-2012 08:05 PM

45 minutes.

I'm actually looking forward to the match itself very much, because it'll be Maria's for big grand slam win since surgery or.....Azarenkas first grand slam ever. Not looking forward to all the media shit though.

Vlad n U 2 01-26-2012 08:12 PM

Yeah, that's inevitable. We're all preparing for it.

As for me? I don't give a shit about the grunting. It's been around for as long as ever so it merely just seems a part of the game to me. But the complaining from the January tennis fans is ridiculous.

To be honest I find Kvitova's notorious bark after every winner to exceed the grunting in terms of irritation.

bono_man2002 01-26-2012 08:19 PM

The Grunting doesn't bother me much either, it did most of the crowd that was around me yesterday, and yeah I'd say 70% of them were January tennis fans.

Vlad n U 2 01-26-2012 08:22 PM

Although I don't like the January tennis fans, the AO would be nothing without them. Perhaps I'm being a bit elitist and 'holier-than-thou' because I follow tennis even when I don't get to watch.

bono_man2002 01-26-2012 08:31 PM

Meh, so what? I'm getting right into it now, will probably follow some of the smaller tournaments a lot more this year. Thinking about getting a TennisTV account when I have some money free, to watch games live, highlights ect. It sounds worth it.

Vlad n U 2 01-26-2012 08:33 PM

I reckon that'd be pretty great.

I would probably do something similar in the future but not this year considering I have *that* year.

I liked that "it will be a racquet".

And I'm sorry, but excessive grunting and shrieking is part of the reason why I don't really follow the tennis.

cobl04 01-26-2012 10:57 PM

I'm not a January fan, though admittedly it's when I'm most into the tennis. You cannot tell me that Sharapova's shrieking is necessary.

Vlad n U 2 01-26-2012 11:17 PM

If you don't like it go into a time machine back 20 years ago and take it up with Monica Seles. And she wasn't even the first player to grunt.

For them, it's a been a part of their game since when they began playing. Nothing's going to change it. Like Courier said last night, if you want to stop it, then try to prevent it in further generations. That's the most sensible thing to say regarding the topic, and it shouldn't be limited to just the women either.

Vlad n U 2 01-26-2012 11:26 PM

Also Andre Agassi's little stories are great.

Vlad n U 2 01-27-2012 07:37 AM

That match. Both players.

GirlsAloudFan 01-27-2012 07:49 AM

Damn, I missed the end of the match.

Go Maria. Go Rafa.

Hewson 01-27-2012 08:39 AM

Shocked to see Murray fight back from 5-2 down in the 5th set...but not shocked to see him piss it away at 5-5 and holding 2 break points.
