My Hillary-loving friend just admitted that she voted McCain. :|

"2 minutes and 4 seconds"

NYT has NH for obama, which isn't a big surprise.

what state?

U2DMfan 11-04-2008 07:58 PM

The Dagobah System has gone for McCain according to CNN's hologram.

Badyouken 11-04-2008 07:58 PM

I'm Canadian. Yet this is probably the most excited and nervous I've been for an election in a long time (probably since the Québec referendum in 95).

The whole world will be affected by this choice, to some extent. Can't wait to see how it unfolds!

Alderaan has gone for Obama.

Tatooine is too close to call.

County Results | Map
McCain 11,912 44%
Obama 14,830 55%
1% of precincts reporting

according to CNN, so how can you say SC goes to McCain? :der:

corianderstem 11-04-2008 08:01 PM

Okay, I'm super confused as to what they're guessing at and what they're actually announcing as "projected winner."

Did a bunch of polls just close and they already know the results? I'm baffled here.

VintagePunk 11-04-2008 08:02 PM

Um, did msnbc just project Penn for Obama???

cobl04 11-04-2008 08:02 PM

So who's 'winning' at the moment?? I live in Australia, have no idea if the votes are being counted as we speak, I assume it's televised? How long to you all know who's gonna be president?

Because it's 1%, so overall percentages mean nothing. they are using exit polls, pre election polls, and common sense to call safe states. it isn't news. swing states are kept aside until more hard data comes in.

ramblin rose 11-04-2008 08:03 PM

okay, now I feel better.

namkcuR 11-04-2008 08:03 PM

A bunch of polls just closed at 8, yes. Most of them are states that weren't going to be close. Only surprise is MSNBC has called Pennsylvania for Obama.

They have it at 103-34 in electoral votes.

ABC had that, too! CNN had some new states, but with 0% for both candidates, and a check mark next to Obama. WTF is going on here?

Yeah I just heard NBC call PA for Obama! I sure hope that's correct.

corianderstem 11-04-2008 08:04 PM

(Ooh, a big storm just blew into Seattle - yay! I heard thunder!)

cobl04 11-04-2008 08:04 PM

And voting's not compulsory in America is it?
