roy 11-12-2005 10:13 AM

Helter Skelter isn't a U2 song...

U2Man 11-12-2005 10:20 AM

Neither are Neon Lights, Happiness Is a Warm Gun, Christmas, Baby Please Come Home or Night and Day.

Btw. Irishteen - are you bored?

onebloodonelife 11-12-2005 10:22 AM

But it was covered by them on Rattle and Hum, so I'm guessing that's the version he's talking about.

Irishteen 11-12-2005 10:29 AM

I know they all atren't U2 songs, but they were each covered by the band, and released in some way

And yes I am bored

gareth brown 11-12-2005 10:35 AM

VERY, it would seem...?

gareth brown 11-12-2005 10:36 AM

and I can't believe you a) split up An Cat Dubh/Into the Heart before b) putting Into the Heart 102 places lower...!!

onebloodonelife 11-12-2005 10:41 AM

My question to irishteen is, how did you sit and listen to each of these songs, then rank them? That would take forever!

Irishteen 11-12-2005 10:44 AM

It didn't take forever, only 16 hours. Just listened to them in alphabetical, to remove any song getting a advantage of flow with another song, or any other think that might help a song, so every song was stand alone

onebloodonelife 11-12-2005 10:48 AM

Wow, 16 hours though...I have to admit, I may have to make a list as well, maybe tonight, I've got nothing better to do.

Irishteen 11-12-2005 10:53 AM

It seems like it takes forever, but when your bored to death it helps a lot

tuwie 11-12-2005 10:58 AM

...WOW

onebloodonelife 11-12-2005 11:54 AM

I think I'll do it when I'm supposed to be reading my U.S. History book...it will bring some life into the stupid book.

maybe an Irish band will explain to me about the whole Iran-Contra affair...Bullet the Blue Sky?

Axver 11-12-2005 03:37 PM

I once tried to rank U2's songs and gave up at #11. It was too hard.

When I make my tops I always feel like it is almost randomly.

With U2, after the six top songs which are well defined, it's very hard.

Congratulations Irishteen

Irishteen 11-12-2005 04:38 PM

When i posted a top anything before it was like, ye I love this song so it has to be here, then in the end Oh My god I forgot that brillant song, but with this, everything is were it should be in my opinion, nothing missed

cobl04 11-12-2005 04:42 PM

Damn, that's a bloody good effort. Maybe I will rank the 169 songs I have!

Joshua_Tree_Hugger 11-12-2005 04:59 PM

Well done for making such a comprehensive list! "In A Little While" should be much higher than #91 though ;)

Zoots 11-12-2005 05:12 PM

Well... Velvet Dress definitely does NOT deserve #197!

You think Paint It Black is better???

Joshua87 11-12-2005 06:22 PM

I'm appaled that mofo is like 137 or whatever...its def a top 10 for me and probably the track im most into right now

The Sad Punk 11-12-2005 09:12 PM

Yeah, I disagree with that list a whole lot... Ultraviolet at 95? I'd probably have it in the top five, heh.

That's quite an accomplishment, though. Perhaps not the most constructive, but wow - you've got patience.

rock888nwo 11-12-2005 09:58 PM

very impressive....i find it exceedingly difficult to do a top 10, because it probably changes week to week (or at least every once in a while)

Don't worry. I don't know them either. And I consider myself to be one of the greatest fans of U2 that ever lived. ;)

My Time Hasn't Come: soundcheck from 25 April 1987 in San Francisco.

Be There: demo from 1982 during a recording session in the US.

Tonight, All In The Light, Lost On A Silent Planet: Pre-Boy songs; Lost On A Silent Planet is the most prominent as U2 played it on a TV show. It is known under all sorts of titles such as The Magic Carpet, Judith, and combos of Life/Lost On A Distant/Silent Planet.

Maybe sometime over Christmas I'll sit down and listen to 50 straight U2 cds. That sounds fun.
