'All Because of You'?

Great...! A song that sounds the same as 'Vertigo'...they could have at least played a proper song off the new record like 'Original of the Species' or 'City of Blinding Lights'...!!

KUEFC09U2 12-03-2004 11:04 AM

heard they played vertigo, sometimes and out of control

Artists perform live on this show, yes!

dezmaas 12-03-2004 11:32 AM

For Scottish viewers, it is on BBC1 Scotland at 23.05 but if you have SKY digital you can watch one of the other regional BBC1's at 22.35!

If anyone's interested, there is Snow Patrol on Channel 4 not long after Jonathan Ross' show, between 12.10 and 01.15 which looks like highlights of their recently released DVD of them performing live at Somerset House ;)

[Edit]

I'm recording now because I'm capturing Max and Paddy's Road To Nowhere, U2, Snow Patrol and then the Green Day programme on C4 after that :)

8Mb/s

Any folks in the UK going to get video for this? I'd love to see the songs.

Samu2 12-03-2004 01:16 PM

Yippie I cant wait:drool:

OpperGoeroe 12-03-2004 01:42 PM

Really like the 4 singing guys, it's funny :)

bananacologne 12-03-2004 01:48 PM

Then again, knowing the BBC, let's hope they don't cut Out of Control...Im really excited about seeing that in particular! *prays*

OpperGoeroe 12-03-2004 01:57 PM

Vertigo was a good performance.

callumalden 12-03-2004 02:25 PM

*spit* That Vertigo, dear oh dear oh dear. LORD, what the hell are they thinking. Vertigo appears to be 10% ready for live broadcast, if that. At least Adam knows he's no use - Bono's shades must have some Zoo TV left in them- leave the cameras alone. Very dissapointed.

OpperGoeroe 12-03-2004 02:35 PM

That was AWESOME!!

Sometimes was really great performance, and also I Will Follow was awesome :) Hope anyone taped it.

bananacologne 12-03-2004 02:38 PM

Ack!!! SO damned good! SYCMIOYO...THAT line, jeez...u could tell every time he sings that song it takes a little piece from him - is he really gonna be able to do this for a whole tour I ask myself? He really delevs deep and sings that middle 8 with such sincerity it's quite amazing.

No 'Out of Control' (Makes u wonder - how the hell can U2.com get THAT wrong!?!?) but we did get 'I Will Follow' which was as bloody incendary as ever.

However, right at the end of the credits, Bono said: "one more for us!" I bet they played Out of Control then. Damn - Oh well, still happy - great, informal interview too.

and I'd forgotten just how cute a smile yer man Bono has hehehe.

Now...we await the rippage!

KUEFC09U2 12-03-2004 02:38 PM

that was actually quite stunning.... most emotional version off Sometimes i have heard, would say even more so than SNL, and just a snippet for the people that never seen it, when they done i will follow everyone was up (which to be fair is never seen on jonathan ross) and bono went upto to someone in the audience who wasnt standing and just said "stand up you misreable b*****d) funny as anything

beau2ifulday 12-03-2004 02:38 PM

hey, was that Ali that he kissed in the audience? Sure looked like her...

Lucy3011 12-03-2004 02:40 PM

Vertigo was cool, Sometimes was awesome, and I Will Follow was amazing.
I enjoyed the interview too.

All in all, a damn good show!

KUEFC09U2 12-03-2004 02:41 PM

bono added something to sometimes the part where he normally sings "and its you when i look in the mirror and its you that makes it hard to let go" he added DAD before he sang that line,

rjhbonovox 12-03-2004 02:41 PM

Yep was his wife......I must say great performance of the songs. Sometimes was magnificent.

KevLW 12-03-2004 02:41 PM

Still pissing myself at that, "stand up you miserable bastard".

Thought Vertigo was a bit suspect but Sometimes & Follow were superb.

Samu2 12-03-2004 02:41 PM

I thought it was Ali

I was amazed by them once again,I had goosebumps through THAT line in Sometimes,I actually cried because it looked like it was hurting him to sing:(

Even my non u2 fan hubby was blown away

KUEFC09U2 12-03-2004 02:41 PM

callumalden please please tell me your being sarcastic?

The Sage 12-03-2004 02:42 PM

A brilliant performance - the energy in Vertigo and I Will Follow was stunning, and somtimes is such an amazing song anyway, and they performed it perfectly

:D

I don't remember the end of Sometimes whatsoever.
I think I was in a daze after the "Can you hear me when I sing?" part.

whasjoewahn 12-03-2004 02:44 PM

Is it possible to post the songs?

KevLW 12-03-2004 02:45 PM

It keeps getting said on here, and quite rightly, is Bono going to be able to perform Sometimes night after night? The sheer effort to get that middle section out is incredible. His Old Man would have been proud though - he nailed it!

KUEFC09U2 12-03-2004 02:45 PM

all i can say is....strap yourself in this will be SOME tour

Lucy3011 12-03-2004 02:45 PM

whasjoewahn - I bet video files and mp3s will be up within the next couple of hours.

Peter 12-03-2004 02:46 PM

yeah, it was ali
I just saw the show. I was switching channels and suddenly the guys were on TV. Great performances. Bono had a little bit problems with his voice during Vertigo. SYCMIOYO was good; I will follow was perfect. At the end of the song, he jumped into the public and shouted "stand up, little old bastard" at a man on the first few rows...
anyway, great music

Bono talked continuously during the interview. The other guys didn't say that much. Adam confirmed that playing live always gives him a kick. Larry laughed at Bono when they talked about his absence in the studio due to his charity commitments: "aren't we good enough? After 25 years?"

It was a good interview, can't find fault in that and the performance was awesome. The best band in the world without a shadow of doubt.

callumalden 12-03-2004 02:51 PM

I love her - she's a bloody great, talented and underratted actress who should definately get more props than she does - was good 2 see her on a prime time chat show regardless.

And God bless her, she was SO excited, she looked like she was about to pee herself!

chazman151 12-03-2004 02:55 PM

callumalden 12-03-2004 02:59 PM

Aww, Sometimes was bootiful. Thank god. I like the way bono smiles at "a house doesn't make a home" *tee hee - me so clever* Adam appears to have his Pop shirt, crazyness. What about Larry - he still looks bored... what can we do for the poor guy, it's his band isn't it?
