you can save yourself a solid 50 bucks by booking the same deal direct from their website - provided you sign up for a Unity card.

So many reviews where no one has humans at the front desk (just kiosks) and you're not allowed to use the fridge because it's full of minibar stuff with sensors that charge you if you move it. Also, moth infestation at Mandalay Bay, fyi, lol. "My" Tuscany Suites place isn't available for my December trip so I'm looking around. It seems like everywhere under the Bellagio/Venetian price level is annoying (things like keys/phone not working to operate the elevators and no humans at front desk to help) or gross/dirty.

soooo a few things.

--yes - many hotels have switched to kiosks for check in. most still have attendants available if you'd prefer to talk to a human. that said - the kiosks are quick and easy and keep lines moving. MGM Grand has 5,000 rooms. you could have 30 people working check in and there would still be lines.

--not being able to use minibar fridges to keep stuff in is not a vegas thing - it's an everywhere thing. most hotels don't have fridges. some do. you can either pay for a mini fridge to be brought to your room - or you can tell them that you need a fridge for medication and they're supposed to give you one for free. highly unlikely that they will verify that you're actually using it for medication.

--mandalay bay is a beautiful property. nobody should have any concern about staying there whatsoever. the only criticism i might have is that it's the southernmost property on The Strip and thus far away from everything, let alone The Sphere. but if you don't care about casino hoping and seeing the sites and plan on taking an Uber to the venue? it's a great hotel.

--if you read enough reviews for any hotel anywhere you're bound to find a few nightmare stories of dirt, grime, bed bugs, moths and dead bodies. people typically don't go to review sites to post about how clean the place was. if you click on the Wynn's reviews and filter out everything but 1 star reviews you'll find reviews where rooms were dirty, smelly, noisy and had terrible service. but, like, it's The Wynn. It's an absolutely gorgeous hotel.

if, perchance, you happen to check into a hotel room that clearly hasn't been cleaned from the night before? tell the front desk and have them move you. it's rare - but again - 5,000 room hotels. mistakes happen.

obviously the lower rated the hotel? yea - odds will increase that you'll get a dud room. so sure - you're more likely to run into a dirty room that smells like smoke at Luxor or Flamingo than you are at Wynn or Cosmo. But the odds of getting an uncleaned room at any location are very slim. So, like - 1% chance vs. a 2% chance kinda deal. It happens, but it's unlikely.

And sure - rooms at the lower cost hotels will have more wear and tear to them than they will at Wynn or Cosmo. Well - of course. You wouldn't expect the same type of room or service at a Courtyard Marriot or Residence Inn that you would expect at The Four Seasons.

Generally speaking - if you book at any of the properties owned by the major casino operators - you're going to be perfectly fine.

it's the northernmost property on The Strip. It's more or less the end of The Strip. There's not much around it. It's a quick walk up to the Arts District - which has great breweries - but it's probably not a walk I'd do at night. During the day you're perfectly fine (i'll often take the bus up to the Strat's stop and walk to the Arts District from there) - but it's fairly desolate.

i don't really know a ton about the room situation as i've never stayed - but it seems fine from what you read.

If you book directly with the Mirage, just know your confirmation email will likely not arrive and the reservation will not show up under the Unity account. It is a known glitch, so be sure to save your confirmation from the booking screen. Everyone that calls to confirm says the reservation does exist. I have not called myself because I was hopeful I would be able to snag something better elsewhere, but who knows. I will call closer to the date or when I cancel, whichever comes first. I booked Thurs. 11/30 - Sunday, 12/3 for 3 people, for $934.00 all in with taxes and resort fees.

I actually stayed at the Strat (but it was back in 2000, so my opinion is out of date), and it was fine. Rooms were clean and perfectly acceptable. We had a car (this was back when you could park most every place for free) so the location was no problem,

So the Mirage confirmation disappears? How appropriate.

How old is too old to see Martin Garrix at Omnia Nightclub? I do have a 23 year old son who could go with me.

I wish I didn't have $5000 in credit card points cause I'd just buy one of these dumb vibees.

I just wanna vibe and play video poker.

Stayed at The Strat for all 3 of our Vegas Trips. 8/2017, 5/2019, and 10/2019. They remodeled and rebranded all throughout 2019, so all the public areas are brand new. Rooms are "fine" maybe stick to mid tier or higher. Elevate I think they are. We bus passed everywhere and walked the main strip areas and Freemont.

but where else can you shoot the pasties off the nipples of a 10-foot bull-dyke and win a cotton-candy goat?
