Is Atomic City what happens when you can’t dismantle an atomic bomb?

No reports of what the song sounds like ?

Thank you.

About what to expect considering what they’re launching in a few weeks.

Feels like Miracle 2.0

I've heard a few people say that (that it reminds them of The Miracle) and I just don't see it.

As for the song, I’ll wait until it’s officially released to hear it. If it’s delayed until January, then I’ll wait until my shows.

It sounds, purposefully I might add, like a very late 60s post British Invasion rock song. The Kinks meets Blondie kinda vibe.

I don't think it sounds like anything they've done, at least from the low quality cell phone videos.

I saw some guy say it sounded like Crazy Tonight, which, god, no.

It's a song made to be played live every night opening Las Vegas and then never again. But it will be great thing. Much like American Soul on the album didn't do anything for me and then in concert I pissed myself.

Any chance they tour the Vegas show on the East coast and we will all feel like idiots for spending 2000 to fly across the country to see our favorite band?

Will I enjoy the show more if I just watch clips online and wait for the concert bluray?

I'm getting cold feet so close to showtime...

Well at least someone in this thread heard The Miracle heavily present in this new track.

Also, forgive me if this is old news but in the NME article about last night's video shoot, I came across this line:

U2 will be playing the first few shows of their ‘Achtung Baby’ residency without drummer Larry Mullen Jr while he recovers from surgery. Despite this, he was present at the music video shoot.

The first few??

I hope I'm not going to regret seeing this the first weekend when I could have got tix for a later show and seen the whole band.

It’s impossible to know what the song actually sounds like, but it does not sound like the U2 I am excited about, although any new U2 is something to be excited about.

But we’ll see.

Bono said at the shoot that Larry wasn’t going to show up at all in the Sphere shows.

Quote:
Bono shared “This is The Edge on guitar. The Edge is a science experiment, we should see what happens. Adam Clayton. Bet his whole life on U2 and we won. The four of us recorded this song, Atomic City. Sadly, Larry Mullen will not be with us at the Sphere. He doesn’t listen to doctor’s orders, neither do many of us. But he’s here tonight and we are so, so proud of our comrade. And wanted to be with us on this occasion.”

The NME has a similarly clickbait headline to an article a couple of weeks back which rehashed some quotes from Adam (?) and then out of nowhere suggested Larry was just missing some of the shows.

I didn’t take that comment the same way.. maintain that Larry will be there — just not performing per se.

Guess time will tell for sure.. all I can say is I’m glad I grabbed a couple closing weekend tickets just in case..

The NME article was terribly written. Larry's not playing.

But hey - we can talk Lakers in person!
