Is anyone else tired of waiting for ANY news on the Vegas show?? I'm DYING to know if it is really gonna be October 23rd, and when the pre-sale is going to happen. I'm also getting a bit annoyed by all the last minute info on pre-sales and dates from U2.com....I don't really appreciate finding out that a presale is happening after the fact (when I don't get an email) or just 8 hours before hand (when I do get one.) I wish they would've just left up the original announcement and list of dates (if all the dates were gonna turn out to be the same anyway.)

well, the real reason i'm soooo annoyed is matt and i are trying to plan a wedding around it! we had been loosely planning to get married in Vegas back when Edge said that's where the tour would open in may. in an effort to plan we asked bono when we saw him before the grammy's where the tour was starting and he confirmed tour was gonna start in barcelona, so we dropped the vegas idea altogether. but then we saw the october date, and thought, what the hell? i've always liked october for a wedding, and i mean, we've been engaged since he proposed on the rail in hawaii for god sakes! we just haven't been able to afford it or coordinate w/our east coast relatives. vegas is a fun cheap destination wedding for everyone. it probably sounds awful, but at this point we are ready to just get it done!! :hyper::love::cocktail:


AND it doesn't help that i've been looking into wedding packages at the casinos for the last 2 weeks online so i'm all worked up.....

^ good luck with the planning! That sounds soo great! I 've always wanted to do something like that ...maybe one day

I,too, have thought of getting hitched while in Vegas - I'm not one for big weddings so it'd be perfect. Of course, I have to run it by the grooom to be :wink:

Ok -- I am loving that you are planing your wedding around U2 shows -- but loving even more that you got engaged on the rail:drool:. It appears that your groom rocks. :heart:

he does rock thank you! we met outside of the irving plaza show in 2000 on the street in nyc!! we were both trying to sneak in!! :lol::lol::D

we didn't start dating until around the time of the brooklyn bridge show....were just friends for several years.

then when we were rail in front of bono in hawaii, matt (my man) got a setlist from AJ, and decided when to propose!:applaud: the last song of the vertigo tour was AIWIY, and suddenly on the line..."you say you want diamonds and a ring of gold" i had a ring box opened in front of me!! i'd say he'll get brownie points for that for the rest of his life!!! :heart::up::love:
 
Melissa that is so awesome. I think they'll announce the date on Monday. I love how he proposed at the show during AIWIY. :cute:

I would love to do Vegas, but I don't have the money.

yea, vegas is amazingly affordable too. i'm not just talking about the old-school off-strip chapels...but even the big places like bellagio are WAY more reasonable than any of the places we've looked at in LA or NY.

are you engaged ladywithspinninghead?

back on topic....Laura...i hope you're right about MONDAY!
 
I wish my husband was a fan. He tolerated Cleveland but has no desire to go to a show this time around. What a shame to have a non-fan in the first row inside the Ellipse.
 
Announce the gosh darn date, please!! If I move any closer to the edge of my seat I'm going to fall off :angry:
