July 26, 2011 - Heinz Field - Pittsburgh, PA

The friendliest place on the web for anyone that follows U2.

Just got back to Toronto. Unbelieveable. Bad. It's all I gotta say. Pictures to follow.

Having a few hours to have thought about that show, all I can say is wow. This was like a combination tour closer, with the great setlist of a show that usually comes right before a tour closer. Bad and the snippets of 40 and Two Hearts were fantastic moments for me and my friends. I gotta say I jumped higher during Crazy Tonight than ever before, without worrying about how tired I would be for the next concert (because there is none for me!). But being there with my friends was easily the best part! I didn't take many photos this time, instead concentrating on enjoying the show and doing a few things for friends :)

edit: Almost forgot: Melissa and Matt, out of all the times I have seen you guys up on stage, this was easily the most special. Very happy for the two of you!

edit again: Melissa and Matt were two of about five or six, all from the same group, who turned me from a casual fan in 2001 to who I am today!

It was an amazing show. My actual write-up will be on LiveJournal once the site decides to come back to life, but my experience was one for the ages!

BAD! 40!

And for those who haven't heard, Mr CK and I were lucky enough to not only see the band's arrival, but we were right up front and got autographs from Bono & Edge! And once I told Bono that I was currently expecting (I'm 9 weeks pregnant with our 2nd child), he smiled and rubbed my belly! :cute:

Pics have been uploaded to my facebook, you can see them here:

Some Pictures From Pittsburgh

I uploaded a few shots to flickr. I was in the seats, so there aren't any close-ups of the band, but the stage itself is still spectacular

Here's the set on flickr

A few of the best shots:

As you can tell from my post count, I'm new here. This was my first U2 concert (as well as my first large concert of any kind), and it really was spectacular. The weather was wonderful during the concert, and the venue of Heinz Field in Pittsburgh seems hard to beat. I'm also interested in theatrical lighting, so I was kept busy looking at all of the fixtures and figuring out how the lighting looks were achieved.

:hug::sad:

so sweet of you Roman! it was so nice to glance down and see you, Amp, Laura and Brad smiling up at us! it really meant a lot! so glad i knew where you were and where to look for you!

Great photos, ajblanck! I forget how beautiful the claw is from far away. It's easy to lose perspective when you're underneath it and can't see all the lights.

Here are some of my pictures!

Epic night. I'm wallowing right now with pizza and beer because I wanna be in Moncton.

Just so everyone knows. My friend and film maker Michael Corbiere went to his first U2 show with me in Toronto. He was smitten with the show and the Mirrorball Man costume that he asked me if he could make a movie about me, the GA line, and the U2 experience. I said yes, and he brought his movie camera to Pittsburgh.
U2BROTHER the movie coming soon.... I tell no lies...

what time did the band arrive?

I am just curious what time the band arrived and signed autographs and met fans?

I was there....until 4:19. They didn't show up until closer to 5pm.

I reluctantly left because the official email said the GA line would go in at 4:45.

I had someone text me when they arrived. Our line was just going in when people started to pass by the GA line with signed t shirts and stuff...

*sigh*

I do remember one girl came back to the line just before we went in and she was excited at having met B and E a few minutes earlier...

Actually U2Dave told me we would have time.
He said he wasn't going to let the GA line in til after the boys showed up. He wasn't sure if they were going to sound check til they got there.
So the boys showed, then the GA line went in.
