I mean with something like that it's almost a double headliner, but I guess U2 has had pretty huge opening acts before (Coldplay, Rage, didn't Chili Peppers open some shows? and of course the velvet freaking underground...)
Bloc Party. would be perfect.
or Dredg.

the only redeeming opening act i've ever seen was the guy who just waved a flag while crappy sounding nondescript marley mumbled.

Headache in a Suitcase said:john legend... that way he can play his cover of pride, thus u2 can retire it from their own set list.

And I really hope someone plays them their music while their doing this new record it could be a great inspiration. If you don't know CSS yet and want to check them out then listen to Let's Make Love And Listen Death From Above, Off The Hook, Alala. It's pretty great stuff and they're very big in Europe right now!
That show was incredible..trashdaveed said:
For example, I had never seen a U2 opening act that had people actually going nuts to the extent of Arcade Fire in Montreal. Granted there were likely already a good chunk who knew and liked them, but they had to have won over some new fans with that performance...the reaction really was amazing. I swear that it could have been one of their own shows when they marched out at the end. Then, when it came time for U2, the crowd was already buzzing more than usual. Well, that was my impression anyway.
