I was reading some the fan reviews of the DC show last night and someone posted about how a lady brought 4 kids under 10 years old to show. In which they were holding their ears throughout.

Do some of these casual fans forget U2 is a rock n roll band? Especially live?

I was standing GA at Chicago 1 and there was a couple in GA with a 10-12 year daughter. Couldn't see anything and I kept thinking why bring a youngster down in the GA. I think the general public views a U2 show as a family outing. I guess Bono doesn't mind since little Billy is walking the stage during COBL.

Anyone else notice this?

nothing really surprises me anymore...

You have to remember that a good deal of U2's fanbase is in their late 20s and older and now have families...

I'm not advocating it but if I had kids I think I would want to take them to a U2 concert - hook them while they are young if you ask me.

now if the person would have posted here, we could have at least told her to make sure her kids wear earplugs.

message = Interference is here for all your needs.....except porn.

have you been to PLEBA lately?

yeah, we give all the information you need including:

- what time to show up for the show
- what to expect in the setlist
- wear earplugs
- how to stalk band members
- whether Bono is OK

all for $19.99... BUT WAIT, there's more...

act now and we'll also throw in a commemorative Sicy Photoshop of your face on some guy shaking hands with Bono.

Operators are standing by...

Well regardless of "rock show" or not, any concert is going to be too loud for a 10 year old and they should be wearing ear plugs.

remember though, if you're trying to meet the band:

come on ye people!
stand back and don't shove!

shove! shove! shove! shove! shove!

I don't think it's a problem as long as they wear earplugs. I would have loved it if my parents took me to shows at that age.

I wouldn't take my five year old grand daughter to a U2 concert. She doesn't stay up that late! But, I see your point. I would get a babysitter for the young kids. Teens no. They would probably enjoy the show.

Taking a 10year old into the GA is a bit to far imo. On the other hand its good these young ones are hearing pure music legends!

On a semi-related note:

A few years ago some rather straight-laced people I know took their fourth grader to see Bowling For Soup. Now, usually that's grounds for an abuse charge, I know. These people were surprised and somewhat upset that the singer said swear words during the show. It took all I had not to pointedly remind them that when you go see rock performers, even shitty ones, there may indeed be things done and said that you don't want children to see or hear.

My 13 yr. old daughter can't wait for the next set of U.S. dates to come out. She is looking so forward to her 1st U2 concert being we didn't take her to Chicago with us. However if we were to do ga we "would not" try and be slammed up in the crowd. I would definatley rather be farther back with her. I think we would be better off in seats so she gets the full effect of everything going on around her. Definatley bringing ear plugs for her as well.

I guess it just all depends on the person and how they feel about taking their child or children to a concert. Some concerts are more appropriate for children while others are not. Just hope that everyone uses good judgement when it comes to that.

Taking all four children w/ me to Virginia & Raleigh

20 18 15(his b/day is 10/1) they all should be ok

Ba Ba:hug: is 13 & will be w/ me at all times:up:

I'm sure your 13 year old is thrilled at the prospect of being referred to as "Ba Ba  " on the internet.

;)

Took my daughter, then 10 years old, to see 2 Vertigo shows. Now she tells everyone she saw Kings of Leon and Kanye West.

And oh yeah, U2...
