Official Pre-Sale Info - U2.Com - GENERAL DISCUSSION & INFO Part 2

The friendliest place on the web for anyone that follows U2.
If you have answers, please help by responding to the unanswered posts.
There have been shows that have had no GA's (or next to none) in the general sale. (Los Angeles had VERY FEW available even in the "Boots" part of the presale.)

I got a boston 9-21 ga and vancouver ga (for a friend) in general sale... its possible yes but i'd rather have the security of a pre-sale. GA's are going for $150-$200 each on scalper sites and eBay.

A membership is $50 and this gives you the opportunity to buy 4 pre-sale tickets. IMO, thats a good way to spend $50.

if you don't get any in the general sale, wait till later there will be seats released considering these are stadium shows. It happens all the time for every performer, I've never been shut out.

Question: Can I have my husband on his computer at work buying tix for Vegas while I'm at home buying tix for Phx using the same presale code? Will that send up some kind of red flag?

If not, can you get tix for one show then order for another show before checking out of TM? Or do you have to check out for each individual order?

First question: You can both search using the same presale code. However, the first to check out will invalidate the presale code for the other (unless you buy less than the allocated number of tix remaining for the presale code). In other words, if you both pull 3 GAs, once you check out, his check out won't work. He'll get a message to the effect of 'There are no tickets remaining for that password.' If you both pull two and have 4 on the code, it should not be a problem.

Second question: Unless you use different browsers (e.g., IE and Firefox), and even that's not guaranteed, if you search two different events, one will supercede the other. In other words, if you search Phoenix and Vegas at the same time, once tix come up on one, the SAME tix to the first show you searched will come up on the other screen or you'll get a "Unable to Process Request" message on the other screen. To try it yourself, go to TM now and search for single Vancouver and Tampa seats at the same time. Then try to proceed to checkout (without actually taking the final step). I would be leery of using two screens. It's too easy to lose tickets.

I would get Vegas tix first, then try Phoenix. Last tour Vegas was virtually impossible to get (in no small part because Casinos and high rollers had holds on massive numbers of tix...the good ole boys network), while Phoenix GAs ultimately were selling on the secondary market for face value or less.

So I got an email today, almost a month after I complained, saying that I've been bumped up to the Breathe category (from Boots). A little late, but I'm hoping it will help me out on the next leg. They said not to use this code AND my old one, though, but I already used my Boots code for 2 tickets. I wonder if I'll have a problem buying two tickets with my new code (because I should be able to buy 4 total).

You'll have no problems. And your boots code is probably still good.

Fan club/pre-sale questions

Is the U2.com membership the one needed to access the pre-sale? Also, are people generally successful when trying to purchase tickets during the pre-sale, or will that also sell out quickly?

2005 was my first U2 concert, and I wasn't able to get tix during the public sale, so I had to buy off eBay, which was very nerve-wracking. I'd like to avoid buying tix from a second party this time. Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Oh, if it helps..I'll be (hopefully) going to the Raleigh show..

we wouldn't be going over our allocated number of tix for the code. I have three left. We want 1 GA for Phx and 2 for Vegas. So yeah, I'm thinking it shouldn't be a problem. I put in an email to u2.com asking the same question but haven't heard back. I'd hate to count on that and miss out because it didn't let us. While I trust my gut and your response, I'd like to hear it "from the horse's mouth".

Has anyone else tried this?

We've tried getting the same show from two different computers/IPs while using the same code, and the first one of us who pulled up the tickets proceeded with the order. So, slightly different scenario than yours.

I wouldn't hesitate to do what you and your husband are planning to do, though. That code is yours, and you can do whatever you want with it, as long as you don't go over four tickets purchased in total - some people have used part of their code and given the unused portion away to someone else. If that's allowed, I don't see how there'd be a problem with what you're doing.

has anyone tried getting tickets at an outlet for the general sale? if so, what's the policy? lottery, etc. when i did it a few years ago for nba playoff tickets it was best available only. you couldnt specify location.

Anyone wanna hear my nightmare? So, I moved recently and had the bank change my address this weekend. Then I ordered my 4 presale tix thru ticketmaster using my new addy. AND I got a venue presale code and ordered 2 more.

Tonight I tried to order from UNLV and they said my address wasn't correct. I called the bank. They hadn't changed the address on the cc. WTF??????

I called TM and they "reprocessed" the orders, changing the address. The guy on the phone said it 'should' be fine but I "might want to call back in a couple days just to make sure" :yikes:
