So we are still absent some minor details, such as tour dates, tour name, whether it's all going to be stadiums, how many legs etc etc.

However, I'm sure I'm not the only one who has been starting to think about how many shows I'm going to try and take in, and where. I've made some precautionary arrangements, by gifting u2.com memberships to a few selected friends and family in the hope that there will be a pre-sale (it's not guaranteed, but I struggle to believe there will be nothing for members), but need to start planning which shows I'll be aiming for.

On the last tour, I was at Manchester 1, Glasgow, Dublin 1 and Dublin 2. I've already made the monumental decision not to go to to Dublin this time around - been there, done that, someone else's turn - but I'm determined to see no less than 4 shows.

Going to the obligatory Scottish date is a definite, don't care whether its Edinburgh or Glasgow, but prefer the former as Murrayfield Stadium is walking distance from where I live.

I'll probably get to one in the north of England - presumably either Manchester or Leeds - as it's reasonably easy to get to and I've got plenty of friends in the region I can speak to.

London is also a stick-on, hopefully both shows (assuming there are 2).

So that's four, but I do want to try something different on this tour. I've looked into costs for getting to Barcelona at the end of June, the opener if rumours are to be believed, but it's looking a bit pricey. Paris maybe or possibly Rotterdam/Amsterdam. All easy to get to.

What is everyone else's plans? I'm starting to get stressed about ticket buying!

All London shows, hopefully at least 2 in Dublin and will also aim for Scotland (great place to see them). Other than that nothing is set, Paris if it fits in, hopefully the opening night(s) in Spain. I'll look at the weekend shows wherever they may be. Not sure whether to go to the US this time, would love to but the crashing pound hikes the expense up. Partly depends on the venues, if it's stadiums in the US I'll just focus on Europe.

U2 only come round once every 4 years so I want to make the most of it each time.

This depends on leave available at work once the tour is announced and schedules/cities being visited .

Europe dates I have planned on so far. Definate: Manchester. Possibilities: Dublin, Amsterdam, London.

Canada: Toronto ( Definate ), Boston, ( Definate), Chicago ( Definate).

Might also try catch some shows in warmer cities if i can, ie Florida or California. Disney visit possible then. See how that idea goes.

Don't even get me started on ticket buying.

 At least we can ll be stressed about tickets together.

Same here.

It all depends on which tickets I'm able to buy. Last time I did 16. This time it won't be more than 15. Closer to no more than 12 if it's all stadiums.
I'm roughly planning on NY, DC, Boston, Philly, Chicago. I may do Minnesota and Vancouver, B.C. I'm definetely doing some home-state shows in California and Oregon.

I'm definetely NOT going out of the country for concerts. That's a waste of money because I'd spend too much time in a line to see the other country.

Yes, I felt that in 1997 and 2005 in Dublin. Far too much time queuing up and wondering when the gates were going to open, hoping to get a good spot. Went back in 2006 and actually enjoyed the city for a few days.

I've seen them once on each of the last 2 tours. I honestly don't see that changing this time around. It would be nice to go to more than one, but a lot depends on the dates when they'll play my city, my finances and so on.

We had talked about going to see them in Vegas, when there was a rumour of the tour starting there. However, with the economy the way it is right now, that's pretty much out the window.

gosh, it's hard to say right now how many. I went to 10 shows last tour. I assume it will be less this time round just not sure right now. I will have the leave as far as work it's just other things like who is gonna watch my kid and my dog. I would love to catch them in Dublin this summer but it's a wait and see when the tour announcement comes.

All Dublin dates, Philly, East Rutherford/ NYC, Boston, maybe Chicago and DC. Being from the Northeast is great for when they tour.

saw 8 on elevation, 8 on vertigo. hope to get to any within driving distance of atlanta, and to visit little brother in boston to see the shows there.

i'm guessing about 5-7 this time, if i'm lucky.

I need a sugardaddy
Probably just the L.A. shows if possible. Plus I have to buy multiple tickets (Maddy & I, and hubby might make it to at least one, he has on the last two tours). So that drains the already non-existant finances :(

Long time no see tryan!

For the foreseeable future, things are too unstable for me - financially and otherwise - to hope to go to any more than a couple of Toronto shows. If the tour carries over into '10, things might be different, and I might be able to make a few more. :fingerscrossed:

i hope also going this year for 8 times, if they will do Amsterdam  then i will not going to......hopefully they will go to Rotterdam

If I'm home - 2 or 3(Vienna, Prague, maybe some German show)
other possibility is Dublin, If I'm there in summer

Definetly the Boston shows. Possibly New York if I can afford it.

I had this whole plan of following them to a few cities around the country. Ain't happening though. :sigh:

mmm depends- London, Dublin, Paris/Nice would be nice but I don't think I'll be able to do those and the start of then tour in Spain

if the album is appallingly bad (in a Madonna Hard Candy bad way) then tour plans will be amended slightly- but I don't expect that to be the case

U2 tour every 4 years so I'd like to make the most of the chances I get to see them

I don't know exactly how many shows i'll see...but I live in the NYC area, so i'll see them here, and my boyfriend's in the UK so I'll see them in London and possibly Wales if they play there this time, he saw them there on the last tour and said it was an amazing show..I'd love to see 'em in Dublin too, of course. This is going to be an amazing summer....I just have to stop getting sick so I have enough money to fund it!!!

Yeah i can definately see being from the northeast being beneficial.

 We will make the most of the Toronto shows. It will be great to see you and Sarah no matter how long we have :heart: . If Sarah has chance i will take her up the CN tower. ;)

:heart :

And we can go out for drinks this time, since I'll be legal. :hyper : Drinks are on me, since you'll be making the trip. :sexywink :

:hyper: You have to show us the best bars in Boston. Oh, and we can go sightseeing. :shifty: Aww thats so sweet. I will buy a cocktail somewhere nice. :shifty:

i don't understand that people want to see them 10 times with almost the same setlist...? Come on, get a life

I did 9 shows last tour ( 5 being US or Canadian shows ) so i almost fit in your category. Every show was amazing as me and my friend who i flew in with from the UK, got to hang out with with our Canadian/American friends and we got to see our favourite band with them/hang out with after the shows etc. We even got to celebrate 2 birthdays, so for me it is just as much about socialising with my amazing friends as it is about the shows. I have a life thanks and these people i am going to see in various cities/countries are apart of it, its awesome to share my experiences with them and see new places.:)

for me, it all depends on where they go in the US, I live in Michigan, so clearly I hope they hit Detroit, but who knows if they'll come here. I mean I personally think they'd do at least one show, you would probably get people come over from Canada, and Ohio, but again who knows.

They'll hit Chicago for sure, so I'll get to at least one!
