Geeze....even the fans have one foot in the grave. Maybe this tour should have been sponsored by Viagra or the AARP

About Lanois, I know he's French-Canadian by name, but does he really parlay Frahn-say? I thought he was from Hamilton, which is about the English-est city in Canada (also the only butt-ugly city in Canada). In his book, Bob Dylan calls Lanois a "yankee" (!).

Born in Hull QC, raised in Ancaster/Hamilton, ON.

Ancaster, btw, is far from being ugly, in the Hamilton steel town, blue collar way. It's one of Canada's most affluent towns/'burbs.

I just drove through Ancaster last night, on my way to a wedding in Hamilton. On one of the roads I frequently take when I'm driving through the area is the biggest house I've ever seen.

It's rumoured to be owned by a mafia dude. :shh:

lol, i probably have more energy than 70 percent of the young ones here, but i have never done GA at a show so i shall see:up:.......and btw my foot is no where near a grave yet,lol

Think Bono must read this forum - just back from Wembley and tonight he was much more active than last night. Out running around on the outer circle and singing at the same time.

Stadium stages are HUGE compared to arena stages. I think Bono was only by us once or twice in Hawaii. But lots in the arena shows I saw. At least he can still hop up and down! I was at a Green Day show with my 7 year old son (his first concert) last month and Billie Joe was asking the crowd to jump. I was like, I don't think so! And I'm seven years younger than B.

I'd prefer it Bono conserved his energy and didn't murder WOWY by the time comes to sing it

godnight!

I noticed this too. For Dublin 1, I was on the back rail in the pit on Edge's side and Bono came past us 1 time the whole show. For Dublin 3, I was 2nd row directly in front of him and he was there almost the entire night. Not that I'm complaininig about that

Bonos an old man now,he just cant do it anymore.Plus the wild sex parties after each show with the 20 year old groupies must be tiring . :D:D

...

... But those are after the shows! He has no excuse!

Mick Jagger is more than likely on drugs.

If you're of the Rolling Stones = 60s/70s! Drugs! mentality, then you might conveniently forget that not every member is Keith Richards and the year is 2009, and Mick was never really on the mad stuff to begin with. He's just in outstanding shape for a man of his age, or indeed, a man of any age. He's a complete exception to the rule and you'd be a suckah to expect anyone else (especially fat lying scum like Bono) to do as well as Mick does. He's also bloody disgusting, but that's beside the point.

Thanks, i didn't know that. Lanois is certainly an interesting dude. I did see him live once (in 1993) -- he performed "Love is Blindness". I've always wondered how he developed his posse of assistants and hangers-on. Let's hope he writes a book someday... he's certainly worked with enough interesting people, aside from his own story.

My older brother is a very, very amateur musician (some guitar, drums), and one of his friends was a guitarist/songwriter. When Lanois was just starting out, he had a studio in his mom's basement or garage or something. The friend was recording demos of some songs he'd written, and did some recording in Lanois' Ancaster home studio - my brother played on a few of them. They probably did it there because it was close by, and cheap. I was too young to even be aware of it at the time, but just found out a few years ago, and thought it was cool. :) The songwriting friend is still close to our family. I'll have to remember to ask him about it next time I run into him.

I don't think Mick Jagger is an exception to the rule.Look at the Boss,he's a bigger physical presence than the Bono of 2009...and the Boss is 60.Or about Dave Gahan, same age as Bono.

Put a photo of those 4 side by side, and you tell me who's in a better physical shape.

hmmmm well Bono ran round the outer catwalk last night at Wembley- as did the Edge. I've not noticed any lack of energy from him on this tour

and he did that whilst singing the end of Streets

Just seem a vid of streets from wembley last night, can i just wow one of the best versions i have seen, also bono seems to be quite energetic to me

of energy.... :D

He did run the whole circle during WTSHNN at Amsterdam I i saw it myself.

I don't think he might be as energetic as a couple of years back but he still is very very much alive and kicking and id rather have him singing the songs great then having him out of breath messing stuff up.

Well...no. 1 is from a band notorious for all the vices you could think of in a band. And no. 4 had his share of drug related problems, along with recently cancelling several shows.

Bono > Bruce on stage.
