Windows Media Player to MP3 Player frustration!

AAH! It really is frustrating.
I recently got a mp3 player from a friend, a 512mb Creative. Anyway when I got it, it was fine, it put all the songs that I wanted on. But now, in WMP it only converts some songs to the MP3 player! There is PLENTY of room, and even if there wasnt it usually says 'may not fit' next to the song/s.
Its odd and annoying. Can anyone help?

Are these mp3's youve downloaded online? If so, they could be corrupt/have errors which your player doesn't 'like'.

yeah either the files are corrupt or the player can´t recognize a certain format for saving them (there are several ways to encode an mp3 file). try to change the file name from xxxx or xxxx.mp or whatever to xxxx.wmv and see if you can transfer them. if that doesnt work, you could stil dig out your old disc(walk)man.
