I really think I'm going to go for the Rezound instead of the Nexus. I think the hardware will be better (also sd slot and removable battery are musts for me) and I can always root to get ICS early.

here is some resound info i found

HTC Vigor Cased as HTC Rezound with Cases, Big Battery & Beats? | WIRELESS AND MOBILE NEWS

4.3 screen and no ICS

and it looks like they went 'Back to the future' for design

http://www.intomobile.com/2011/10/21...efore-looking/

I do want to hit a couple of stores and compare how the phones look and feel in my hand.

the Razr does interest me, hoping it will upgrade to ICS, soon.

i feel like the ipod classic's been kind of ignored, i guess because that's all it does is play music. no touch screens, no apps (well aside from the few in the store that work with the wheel), etc. but that's what i like about it. i could just put my favourite stuff on my ipad but i like having lots to choose from. because sometimes when i'm out at school or driving i may decide i don't want to listen to an album, but a bunch of random stuff from a genius playlist or something. i like having the choice. to revert back to only (comparatively) smaller hard drives on the iphone is a huge step backwards.
No apps is the key to why its been ignored. It's a pure money thing.

Steve Jobs was a real whore for money, everything he did was for money. And that is the direction Apple wants to lead the sheep.

One day people will wake up and realize all the media they are consuming through their hip Apple products is at a cost. These little costs will seem trivial at first.

So Crapple was granted the patent for Slide to lock even though it had been around two years before. These international courts must be being paid off by Crapple.

Economic instability theories state that apart from a decrease in consumer spending, a major impact into the economic vulnerability could be a potential breakthrough in one or several key industries. This breakthrough was the iPhone released back in June 2007, and consequently the recession started in December 2007.

Apple has known very well how to market their products with a mind-manipulating strategy. They market everything with nice colors (predominantly white, gray, and black), nice letters, and the overall catchiness that make everything about the brand look amazing and the best of the best when it comes to technology. People have been easily manipulated by this and fall for this crap very easily, that's how penetrating Apple has established itself with marketing since they became accepted to the point where they have more cash reserves than the US government.

The Motorola Atrix or the new Nexus Galaxy surpass the iPhone 4/4S in every aspect that you can imagine. There are thousands of Windows PC laptops and desktops that are more powerful than any MacBook or iMac, but yet people keep being influenced by the brand perceived as "techy" and a market for Apple products will continue to be present until a rival comes along - which at this point is imminent.

Justin, you have a lot of enthusiasm for smart phones, which is great, I guess. But maybe you could keep your enthusiasm for Android products and your special brand of vitriol for, uh, "crapple?" in this thread?

The Apple thread is mostly posts about upcoming products and people getting simple technical questions about their products answered. Your couple of posts are just not contributing anything.

If you would like to genuinely discuss working conditions where our technology products from companies like HP, Nokia, Motorola, and Apple are made in the third world at Foxconn-owned factories, feel free to start a new thread about it and quote my reply to you from here.

Here is an info-graphic detailing the current mess that is smart phone patent wars, since you guys seem to be pretty into them:

this forum is for people to post their thoughts and opinions, plenty of Apple product users post bitches and complaints about Apple in that thread

people are constantly comparing/contrasting iPhones to Androids

as a reasonably satisfied 4 year iPhone user, I need to buy a new phone.
and hearing from both camps is useful, like anything on the internet, one has to use a filter.

I doubt I'd ever go back from Android. I've seen my friends iPhones and I've been fairly unimpressed. Mainly, I want flexibility and I want my phone to act as close to my PC as possible, and do a few things really really well. That's Android, in my books.

i'm actually getting annoyed with the lack of information from verizon about the galaxy nexus.

i know what they're doing... they're putting out the big motorola phone and the big htc phone, all filled with verizon bloatware, before they unleash the nexus on us. i get it. but come on... give us a release date already.

frankly if either the RAZR or the rezound had NFC i would have gone with one of those two phones and just waited a month or so for ice cream sandwich to show up.

I will be going with the Rezound later this week. I'm going to attempt to get it at $219 after my last NE2 discount. My current corporate discount shows the contract price at $269. I still like Sense and if I want ICS early I will be able to.

The Nexus looks amazing, but I don't need NFC. And yes, the lack of release date is annoying.

I don't know if I actually neeeeeeed NFC, but I do believe it's the next major breakthrough in mobile technology, and if I'm going to get a new phone, which will be with me for two years, I want one that has it.

The possibilities with NFC, from payments to door locks to ticketing to metrocards etc etc etc is endless.
