Can I throw away Garage Band?

iLife08 as a whole only takes up 3GB. I don't imagine removing Garageband would give you significantly more hard drive space.

If you don't use it, there's no reason to keep it. The real space waster with Garageband is the loops. They take up a massive amount of space. If you go to (yourusername)-->Library-->Application Support-->Garageband and delete that entire folder, that will remove the loops and all that, and it should free up a lot of space. Like at least a few GB.

Is your hard drive nearly full?

I have no idea. When iCal, iTunes, Mail, and Safari are all open, my comp runs slower than a cat eating shit and it's getting annoying.

:lmao:

That's probably more of a memory issue. If you go to the Apple Menu and hit About this Mac, how much memory do you have?

Yeah, that's definitely why.

Which iMac do you have again? Depending on the model, it's not very hard to install new memory, and memory's so cheap now. I got 2Gb for my Macbook for $60.
