Can I make my iPod have Mono output?

Since I want to play it though a guitar amp, and its by no means stereo, I need a way to get my iPod to go mono.

Now, theres no mono EQ as far as I know. But if you know of some sort of software way of doing this, Id like to know.

Otherwise, Ive been messing with types of wires. I *think* I need both ends of the wire to have 1 black band, is this correct? Cos either the wire, or the big/little headphone connector always ends up having a mix of 2 at one end and 1 at the other.

I know that this thread is old, but I can help you with this. Purchase a male auxiliary audio jack to female composite audio splitter (RadioShack Gold Series Audio Y-Adapter - RadioShack.com) Then run a red OR white cable composite cable to your amp. The output from the cable will be mono (left or right channel).

Well the thing is, I dont want a right or left channel, I want them both at once, but as a mono output. :/

You could always download something like audacity and manually convert your songs to mono. I'm not sure of any other way to do it

Unless you do it with each file one by one, I really don't think it would be possible
