For no reason whatsoever, the audio on my computer isn't working. It's not the speakers or headphones, because I've tried a number of different ones. It's not the volume, and I've tried a bunch of different sound things, all of which play, but none of which I can hear through speakers or headphones or whatever. What could the problem be?

Check the soundcard in the Device Manager?

On my old laptop, if I use the hotbuttons to control audio, it would screw it up and I'd have to keep hitting mute/unmute on the buttons over and over until it came back on.

Did you get this fixed phillyfan? I recently reinstalled XP and had this problem, the solution made me feel silly, but it wasn't the first thing I would have thought of...let me know..
