My wife for her steady love.
My boys, Brendan, 3.5, and Aidan, almost 2, and their power to make me smile (and their ability to recognize each member of U2, no matter what picture I show them). My parents and my sisters for their infectious laughter. This new Sufjan Stevens Christmas box set that I keep playing over and over. My job. The discussions I’ve had with people here and the people behind them. This time of year. Our apartment. MySpace. Warm cups of tea. God’s stubbornness. |

A relatively comfortable life that allows me a roof over my head, food in my belly, an occasional fun money.
A good job with coworkers I genuinely like. Family who, despite our past differences, are there for me. Loved ones of all kinds. Music! And U2. ![]() Happy Thanksgiving to all here who celebrate it! |

That I'm still here, but honestly sometimes not so much. But that I can deal with that feeling more often these days without being paralyzed by it.
For health and being able to walk and talk and see and hear and everything else For laughter and fun, that I can still have and enjoy both For the strength that God and God's love gives me, and for his love making me a more empathetic and compassionate and humble person For a roof over my head and all the other material necessities and luxuries Family, friends, my dog For genuinely good decent people For nature and the everyday simple things |

There is so much to be thankful for--I have been reading in the paper this week about the homeless problem in our area--I'm thankful I can take care of myself & have a warm home & food everyday without having to worry about much in my life. I want to feel sorry for these folks but I read some of them make up to $200 a day from people who feel sorry for them. Oh well--Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

I'm thankful for...
My family. Yes, they can be exasperating, but I do love them. My life-enhancing friends. I couldn't make it through without them. A roof over my head. Food in my cupboards and refrigerator. Clothes on my back. And excellent health. People who inspire me. The famous-Bono, the late Audrey Hepburn, and those who may not be great names, but do great things. Interference, not only for this wonderful forum, but for also getting my writing career back on track. And I'm grateful for the generous people who let me interview them (hi, Lies). Living in a world where an intelligent woman like myself can get a great education The St. Joseph's School in Cameroon for giving my life an added purpose My new kitty cat, Pokey Jones |

I am grateful for:
The people in my life, the relationships and love I am able to share That at birth, I basically won the lotto (comparatively speaking), in the time, place, and circumstances in which I happened to be born That each new day, I am given an opportunity to try and be a more decent person and make better choices That there really is no hell except the hell man has created on earth, or in his own mind The brilliant, soul bearing posts that many take the time, risks and guts to write in this forum And that every now and then, some of us, actually do see the humanity in others that are different from us |

That I have pretty much everything I really need.
That I have a good deal of what I want. That I don't have everything I want. |
