You might as well say the same thing about the Tea Party. They hate the Govt, keep talking about "liberty" and quoting Thomas Jefferson "The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants."

I suspect if Thomas Jefferson were alive today, he would spit on them. I could be wrong. I just don't see why these people are so fed up with their country they want to incite violence and continually work against the Govt that is trying to help them.

If the Govt wants to help you, thats tyranny? WTF? Liberty is, to these people, bloodshed and hate. Whatever McVeigh.

I think they would favor a restructuring of the Government. The Fourth Branch of executive agencies such as the EPA, IRS, FCC, NSA were not envisioned by Jeffersonian fellows. Now it can be argued that regulations from these largely unchecked agencies affect the average American just the same as laws.

Are these agencies needed. Sure. But unchecked can throw governance out of balance. The EPA is protecting the Delta Smelt fish in California resulting in the loss of agriculture and jobs. I don't have the exact figures or articles in front of me.

A large contingent of 'Shrink the government' Tea party types see these offshoots of the executive branch as the nemesis. Cruz said he would abolish the IRS. OThers would diminish the power it has over the citizenry. Many people on both sides of the aisle are scared of the power of the NSA after the Snowden release.

It's not all about bloodshed Revolution. The imagery suits the time when the colonists felt overwhelmed by the yolk of Britain. Some feel the same about our own Federal Government.

Just starting a small business is a pain in the ass nowadays with all the hoops to jump through. The IRS tracks every deposit over 10k in cash you make, now people just deposit smaller intervals of 5k, 7k, 3k. Once again I don't have an article link in front of me, but these innocent people are getting their bank accounts frozen being suspected of being drug dealers flying below the radar.

The government can be a help, it can also step in the way. That's the balance we elect our Politicians to manage. However, as the bureaucracy grows more and more decision makers are un-elected.

I'd like to see more accountability to these 3 letter agencies. I think that's an idea most Americans would get behind.

Um, ya think? The world has changed a lot in the last 200 years...

Didn't God create every animal and species for a reason? Should we protect them or let them go extinct?

A large contingent of the Tea Party are also racist, bigoted, and homophobic. Cruz is full of shit if he thinks he can or would abolish the IRS. He is merely playing to the batshit crazy base. I don't particularly care for the power the NSA has either, however, a little bit of intrusion might be better than the alternative if it meant another attack on our soil.

If its not about a bloodshed revolution, then they need to stop saying it. I fail to see what it is about this Federal Govt that is so "overwhelming" that makes one want to organize and take up arms, or at least romanticize about doing so.

The Federal Govt isn't perfect by any stretch, i should know, however i wonder how it compares to others like it? Not too shabby. Shutting down components of the Federal Govt, to include the DOD, during a time of war is treasonous in my book. The GOP has done it twice in the last couple years. And they also did it in 1995.

The only revolution we need in America right now is to END the tea party once and for all. Then we can have the conversation about sensible conservatives, independents, democrats, and liberals, and which of these people we want to represent us. Until then, i will vote as far left as possible until my message is understood, or until i die, whichever happens first.

What is Ted Cruz's proposal on how to fund the government without the IRS?

Will he use the black ops that are taking over Texas?

Anybody on the left side leaning away from her? Are you more curious about other Democratic Candidates?

Hell no. An email problem isn't that big a deal, especially when you look at her GOP opponents, who are, let's be realistic, joke candidates. Clinton's smarter than anyone else running anywhere, and she knows how to do the job.

Bernie's great, but he'll have no chance to get anything done if hell freezes over and the US actually elects a REAL Socialist rather than the guy everyone's still pissed about so they call him a Socialist.

The thing is, as much as Sanders likes to think of himself as a socialist, he really isn't one, more so a social democrat at best.

I like a lot of Bernie Sanders' policies, but yesterday he did an AMA on Reddit and gave a lot of non-answers to the questions that were asked of him.

I'm also not a big fan of his repeated votes to cut funding to NASA. I'm a big advocate of space exploration and his track record there is troubling.

I don't understand why the Republicans hate NASA so much, as an aside. There's so much money to be made in space once we can actually get there cheaply. The first person to figure out how to get the public up and back inexpensively, and/or figures out how to efficiently, quickly, and inexpensively move cargo to and from Low Earth Orbit is undoubtedly going to be the worlds first trillionaire many times over. I would think an idea like that would make guys like Trump and the Koch brothers foam at the genitals.

But I digress.

Because they don't want to imagine the possibility of being launched into space because the rest of the world is tired of their shit.

After 40,150 minutes, Hillary Clinton takes some questions from the press - The Washington Post

If I were a Hillary supporter I'd be a bit hesitant about her campaign right now. She went nearly a month without answering a media question. Yes, I know she still matches up well against GOP candidates.

Anybody on the left side leaning away from her? Are you more curious about other Democratic Candidates?

Some people on the left might not be overwhelmingly enthused with her, as i think we have seen a little in this thread. Yet it still appears as though this race is Hillary's to lose. It's foolish to think that anyone on the left would yield to the republicans in 2016 because Hillary has a scandal or didn't talk to the media for 30 days.

As another poster said previously, there were plenty of scandals around both of the Clinton's during the entire presidency. While some of those scandals obviously hurt them, overall, their legacy remains intact.

All a person really has to do is take a good look at Hillary and then take a good look at her opponents on the other side, and draw their own conclusion.

The GOP will once again be tripping over themselves to oppose same sex marriage and Obamacare, two issues which seem to have the majority of support among voters. And as usual, the extreme fringe of the GOP (Cruz, tea party) will go out of their way to make the entire GOP field look bad. Just like Santorum did in 2012.

I really don't see the pathway for her to lose to any of these guys.

I personally have a lot of reservations about Hillary, this last month has not changed those.

But there is not a single Republican that I'd vote for over her. Those guys are a special breed of crazy and not fit to govern.

Exactly, she's not my most ideal candidate, but there certainly wouldn't be a chance in hell of any Republican candidate (announced, presumed, or otherwise) getting my vote, if I had one that is. All things considered I don't see how a Hillary Clinton presidency would be a genuinely bad thing for America, barring some catastrophe outside of her control, a major health issue (depending on her choice of VP), or some sort of psychotic break straight out of an episode of 24.

That's the GOP and their voter's problem. They probably could have won this election if they chose someone middle of the road, but they honestly think moving further right is their answer. The tea party has ruined their immediate future.

I fucking loathe the tea party. I guess if there is any light to them, it's that they are exposing themselves on a regular basis and somehow think that is ...okay. This whole world might have gone completely fucking nuts, and im just one person in this world, but im fucking nuts too, but i wont be that kind of fucking nut. I am just afraid that someday they will win. The fact that they do so well in the mid terms is depressing/scary/dangerous enough. Fucking hell with them.

I just bought this for you Mrs. Garrison. Ships in 2 business days. Enjoy !

Who do you support?
Because it seems that your ideals are far left of Trotsky.

Super-left? Wow, that's scary.

If Bernie Sanders isn't liberal enough for some people here, yes that's scary.

Most of the board seems to be super-left. I'm a conservative. What about you Bob? Are you somewhere in between on the spectrum.

I'm a mixed bag. I have mostly Libertarian leanings, but agree with Conservatives on some social issues, such as abortion, but I don't align myself with the Tea Party or even most Republicans. I think the Tea Party has really torn the party apart. Which isn't exactly the worst thing because Establishment Republicanism is full of scumbags and people who are far behind the times. But their approach has not been very good and the radicals have overthrown the people who wanted to make a difference.
I can't seem to find anything that I can agree with in regards to Liberals. I'm sort of just in the middle on some topics, but don't lean liberal at all. I'd more than likely be abducted by aliens than vote for a liberal.

I for one don't think Bernie Sanders is liberal enough...but I'm in favor of a universal basic income and way stronger regulations on certain areas of business such as oil companies and finance. Plus I'm far left on social issues

 Sounds like paradise. What we really need is the government to take full control and overthrow the private sector; we then must allow someone to take a full dictatorship. Getting chills just imagining how great the future would look.

Because that's totally what Scandinavia is...a dictatorship ala 1984.
