Mike Pence holds rally in Michigan today, Messianic/Jews for Jesus "rabbi" (not really a rabbi) prays for the Pittsburgh victims in the name of Jesus. Pence calls him "a leader in the Jewish community", this man who says that Jewish people who don't believe in Jesus can't go to Heaven. Pence manages to offend a very large segment of the Jewish community in the process, two days after the tragedy. He didn't invite the guy, a Jewish Republican Congressional candidate did. He did call him a leader though, whether that was off a prompter or not.

Once again, you just can't make this stuff up. The arrogance, the complete tone deafness.

The evidence lies in obscure docket entries at the clerk’s office for the D.C. Circuit. Thanks to Politico’s Josh Gerstein and Darren Samuelsohn, we know that on August 16th (the day after Giuliani said he was almost finished with his memorandum, remember), a sealed grand jury case was initiated in the D.C. federal district court before Chief Judge Beryl A. Howell. We know that on September 19, Chief Judge Howell issued a ruling and 5 days later one of the parties appealed to the D.C. Circuit. And thanks to Politico’s reporting, we know that the special counsel’s office is involved (because the reporter overheard a conversation in the clerk’s office). We can further deduce that the special counsel prevailed in the district court below, and that the presumptive grand jury witness has frantically appealed that order and sought special treatment from the judges of the D.C. Circuit – often referred to as the “second-most important court in the land.”

At every level, this matter has commanded the immediate and close attention of the judges involved – suggesting that no ordinary witness and no ordinary issue is involved. But is it the president? The docket sheets give one final – but compelling – clue. When the witness lost the first time in the circuit court (before the quick round-trip to the district court), he unusually petitioned for rehearing en banc – meaning he thought his case was so important that it merited the very unusual action of convening all 10 of the D.C. Circuit judges to review the order. That is itself telling (this witness believes his case demands very special handling), but the order disposing of the petition is even more telling: President Trump’s sole appointee to that court, Gregory Katsas, recused himself.

At his political event in Indiana last Saturday, the day of the synagogue massacre, Trump had the song Happy by Pharrell Williams playing. Unbelievable. I know he doesn't pick the music, but whoever does shouldn't have a job. Pharrell's lawyer sent the WH a letter.

I believe that was the same event when Trump joked that he almost had to cancel because of his bad hair day. Yep, he did that.

This Jacob Wohl guy is digging in. It’s hilariously bad.

Imagine the people you’ll see there. For that alone it may be worth it.

touching on that new york magazine / i'm young and like totally not gonna vote article if i may...

I feel like the Democratic Party doesn’t really stand for the things I believe in anymore. Why should I vote for a party that doesn’t really do anything for me as a voter? Millennials don’t vote because a lot of politicians are appealing to older voters. We deserve politicians that are willing to do stuff for our future instead of catering to people who will not be here for our future. I’m a poli-sci major, so talking about politics is a daily thing for me. Half of the people I talk to seem very into voting. The other half are people who, like me, don’t really feel represented. The only thing they choose to vote in is local elections.

... can go fuck himself.

they don't care about your voting block because you don't vote, einstein. why should anyone appeal to a group of people who refuse to wield the power they hold?

if the 18 to 30 age group got out and voted in huge numbers, they'd tilt the power in this country immediately. leaders would HAVE to pay attention to them.

ugh this shit pisses me off.

This is an acceptable reason, to me. Especially if Captain America is a dog.

A couple of years ago I was looking for a Batman costume for our dog bc he is a German Shepherd so he obv has the perfect ears. Went to the store and asked for the largest size, they said XL, I was like, great! The package said “suitable for a cocker spaniel.” LOL

captain america is a 4 year old
Equally good, then.

What is he even talking about anyways? He's saying "Things and Stuff" basically. In what way are democrats not trying to work for our age demographic both now and in the future? I would love to know what kind of grades he's getting in that poli-sci major.

Honestly, while all Democrats aren't great most of it not all are fighting for a better climate change response, renewable energies, health and safety regulations, intelligent, thoughtful foreign policy, choice for women, LGBTQI rights/protections, some are taking serious looks at voter suppression, racism, sexism etc.

Plus does if in college such students might under circumstances by forced, or choose a more blue-collar job where Workplace Safety is usually more in need than white-collar work.
Don't many of them have parents and/ grandparents they love; shouldn't they be possibly concerned for The Safety Ne t: SS, SSI, SSD, food stamps, what's left for aid for poor children !?
Because fucking McConnel & Co are heading towards it with Big Scissors ready to lower the ballooning deficit caused by spring's massive tax cut for corporation s and real rich people.

And while most young (20's', early 30's ) don't like to think about it- and it is a low %- they can be injured enough to be out of work for years, or for life. That's what SSD, and SSI are for.

OSHA, too

I still want to slap the guy who was like “I used to be a socialist until someone gave me a copy of The Prince,” or the girl who would be more inclined to
vote if someone just printed the forms out for her and took them to the post office to mail them for her cos like who even knows where the post office is! millennials don’t mail things!

Chronic illness girl in MA is pretty uninformed, too. Super fucking easy to register to vote in MA.

That's the other thing, I'm trying to not be too critical, but even Indiana has online voter registration. How many states do you actually have to go out and register in, still?
