IMHO, it should have been doctors/nurses/front line workers. But it’s fine.

Trump did, however, win Time’s “Little Boy of the Year.”

Thank god. Can we please put this insanity to rest now and move on?

Well there's always Electoral College on Monday. If that fails, there's always barricading himself inside the Oval Office. If he can even remember where that is, he hasn't been there in a long time.

Unbelievable-

Donald J. Trump

Well, if he does that, then come inauguration day, all anyone has to do is give the say so and they can officially toss him out on his ear. If he keeps up this stubborn act, I hope he does get thrown out in the most humiliating fashion imaginable.

Fuck you, Trump . Just...fuck you. I swear to god, he's the whiniest person I've ever seen in my life.

Rumor has it he is going to Mar-A-Lago for Christmas and not coming back.

Fine by me. Certainly not like he'd be doing anything worthwhile by staying in D.C., after all.

It’s kind of fun how even the rapist and the religious fanatic he put on the court are like “I don’t know her.”

Did you see where someone ?on Twitter put up a map and Drew an "Edison County" with a Sharpie going into the lake?!
Having depression and anxiety myself, I feel so judged. I have done all the appropriate things for me to get help and treatment, but the judgement is always there. People don't understand the stigma until they experience it personally. Some people in the medical field don't get it either.

One of my brothers is a narc to the point that I believe he's capable of anything(including violence). He is a 50 something year old bully, and he's been that way since he was a teenager. I'm sure people in his life who fall for his act would never believe that. In his deluded world he has no mental health issues, and he makes fun of people who do.

I watched The Undoing on HBO, it's a good portrayal of narcissism.
When you said narc the first thing I did thought of was narcotics detective.
I have had two bouts of major depression, and have kind of a generalized anxiety (it's more complex than that I think) that hit me in my early 40's. These past 4 years with drumph have raised my anxiety, and probably with cv19, I might have some sub-clincal dystimia (low grade depression).

A friend who's got her own issues said to me tonight - very interesting idea - that maybe more of the general population is experiencing forms of anxiety, and
dystimia that they have never felt before. Just maaaybe they'll be a greater understanding, and empathy for people with mental health problems.

If you or someone else chooses to start a mental health thread, I would be sure to use it regularly. I've been keenly aware of my (poor) mental health since I was a kid, but recently I've been making practical strides in addressing it.
Glad you are working on it, LM.
Back on subject-you're fired Bill Barr!

WASHINGTON (AP) — Attorney General William Barr said Tuesday the Justice Department has not uncovered evidence of widespread voter fraud that would change the outcome of the 2020 presidential election.

His comments come despite President Donald Trump's repeated claims that the election was stolen, and his refusal to concede his loss to President-Elect Joe Biden.

In an interview with The Associated Press, Barr said U.S. attorneys and FBI agents have been working to follow up specific complaints and information they’ve received, but they’ve uncovered no evidence that would change the outcome of the election.

“To date, we have not seen fraud on a scale that could have affected a different outcome in the election,” Barr told the AP
Wondering why he said this instead of lying. On my unofficial Democrats site some people were saying he's trying to preserve or save his reputation! Much laughter insued!

It is FUCKED that Obama was getting roasted on twitter for saying this, but the outrage answered his question. They'd rather feel good among people they already agree with than get things done. And they'd rather use a snappy slogan than use a slogan that's less catchy but actually expresses the ideas behind it. The left is so fucking bad at communicating.
It was not the best slogan. And I have go back and read some of the stuff on actually
defunding the police just to get on better remembered in my head.
I'm all for seriously reforming the police.
No they need to be broken up into two parties. So do the democrats.
Uh... so then we have 4 semi-major parties, plus the smaller ones. Er...I don't think so.

It also doesn't help that people apparently can't be bothered to read up on this stuff themselves. I agree that it's clear at this point that the Democrats really need to figure out a better messaging plan, and that "defund the police" scared and confused a lot of people.

But at the same time, I mean, there's plenty of interviews out there with people who've been advocating for defunding the police, who explain it all very concisely. People could surely take five minutes out of their day to read/watch/listen to a couple of those and get a general idea of the concept. Apparently that's too hard for some people to do, though.

There's also the fact that anyone with any sense of logic and good faith and such, even if they weren't fully clear on the specific details of "defund the police", would still at least understand and realize that most of the people advocating for it were NOT advocating for total anarchy and a lawless state. But when some are already predisposed to not give black people the benefit of the doubt or hear them out on anything they want to say regarding civil rights issues in general, it's clear at that point that the real issue here isn't the messaging.
As I said above I need to reread more from those wanting to defund the police.
I'm for serious reform of the police.
Take away all that militarized crap! Now how can we route out the racists?! Shrink the force, and budget so more money goes to social services, mental health care, education, job training. All the stuff that generally helps people to either not think of, or stay away from physical criminal actions. Though also working reducing sexism would help with other crimes. Unfortunately white-collar crimes of greed are still there as we can all see these past for years (and those of us who known his longer miserable reputation from living in the NYC, NJ area). Heh.

The party of "pull yourself up by the bootstraps" and "drain the swamp of political elites" is shitting on a person for making an honest day's wage to support herself. The definition of hypocrisy, as if there was any doubt.
Well said.

He’s supposedly been admitted to Georgetown hospital. He better not take a bed from a more needy, less reckless person. But I suppose they’ll let him suck down the aborted fetus cocktail that Trump got and he’ll survive.
:sigh: yeah. He's out of the hospital now bc he got all the super fancy stuff.

I’m sure if / when he’s released he’ll be totally grateful to the doctors and staff who saved his life.

And take covid seriously from now on. Ask everyone to wear a mask
Riiiiight.
I'd be shocked if he actually did that.

if only they had this same kind of energy for the people who are responsible for over 280k covid deaths.
Hoo boy, yeah. Despicable people. And her poor child!

This is still quite possibly my favorite thing ever. View attachment 12726
Who is drumph seeing in the mirror? Don't know the character/show/movie off hand.

Remember when Trump flipped out over Greta?

Snark!
In a way a tough choice bc it wasn't the easiest thing for Biden and Harris to have won what with all the various voter suppression, Russian interference etc. The turn out was large enough to get past all the dirty tricks!
And Joe & Kamala will make things better for our medical, and other frontline workers.
I'd have been fine with the workers as the choice as well.

Rumor has it he is going to Mar-A-Lago for Christmas and not coming back.
While I loooove that idea on one level - I was truely hoping to see him being dragged
out of the WH!
:lmao: :applaud:

Kiddo? What an ass. Got the attention he was seeking. The op ed is a condescending piece of crap.

TheHill.com

Several public figures and others on Twitter are condemning The Wall Street Journal for an op-ed published Friday that suggested incoming first lady Jill Biden should "drop the 'Dr.'" before her name, with some saying the piece was "trash" and "misogynistic."

The op-ed, written by essayist and short-story writer Joseph Epstein, argues that "'Dr. Jill Biden' sounds and feels fraudulent, not to say a touch comic" and opens by addressing President-elect Joe Biden's wife as "Madame First Lady-Mrs. Biden-Jill-kiddo."

"Your degree is, I believe, an Ed.D., a doctor of education, earned at the University of Delaware through a dissertation with the unpromising title 'Student Retention at the Community College Level: Meeting Students' Needs,'" Epstein writes. "A wise man once said that no one should call himself 'Dr.' unless he has delivered a child."

"Think about it, Dr. Jill, and forthwith drop the doc," the writer adds.

By Saturday afternoon, "Joseph Epstein" and "Dr. Biden" were the No. 1 and No. 3 top trending topics on Twitter in the U.S.

In the opinion piece, Epstein, who currently serves as an emeritus lecturer of English at Northwestern University, noted that he "taught at Northwestern University for 30 years without a doctorate or any advanced degree."

"The Ph.D. may once have held prestige, but that has been diminished by the erosion of seriousness and the relaxation of standards in university education generally, at any rate outside the sciences," Epstein argues.

"As for your Ed.D., Madame First Lady, hard-earned though it may have been, please consider stowing it, at least in public, at least for now," Epstein concludes. "Forget the small thrill of being Dr. Jill, and settle for the larger thrill of living for the next four years in the best public housing in the world as First Lady Jill Biden."

Several people, from medical doctors and Ph.D. holders to political figures, took to Twitter to criticize Epstein's argument.

Chasten Buttigieg, husband of 2020 Democratic presidential candidate Pete Buttigieg, tweeted Saturday, "The author could've used fewer words to just say 'ya know in my day we didn't have to respect women.'"

I really like Mayor Pete, and now I like his husband after the first thing I've heard from him.

Chasten was/is a teacher. Don't know if he has gone back to it yet, he did write a book. Seems like a good guy.

I like Mayor Pete too. No job for him so far in the Biden administration. Supposedly he would like to be an ambassador.

A former adviser to New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo accused him of sexual harassment Sunday, alleging that the behavior went on for "years."

In a series of tweets, the woman, Lindsey Boylan, who worked as deputy secretary for economic development and special adviser to the governor from 2015 to 2018, said Cuomo "sexually harassed me for years."

"Many saw it, and watched," Boylan said. She did not name people who could corroborate her claims.

"I could never anticipate what to expect: would I be grilled on my work (which was very good) or harassed about my looks. Or would it be both in the same conversation?" said Boylan, a Democrat running to be the Manhattan borough president. She did not provide further details or more specific allegations.

Cuomo spokesperson Caitlin Girouard said in a statement to NBC New York, "There is simply no truth to these claims."

Boylan, who did not immediately respond to a request for comment, said on Twitter that she has "no interest in talking to journalists."

She added that she was "angry to be put in this situation at all."

"That because I am a woman, I can work hard my whole life to better myself and help others and yet still fall victim as countless women over generations have. Mostly silently," Boylan wrote. "I hate that some men, like @NYGovCuomo abuse their power."

Boylan tweeted Dec. 5 that her "most toxic team environment" was her time in the governor's office, adding that people are "deathly afraid" of Cuomo.

After she left the governor's office, Boylan ran for Congress in New York's 10th District in the 2020 primary, challenging Democratic Rep. Jerry Nadler, who beat her handily.

Miller will probably mobilize his white supremacist army, that's probably his alternate set of electors/alternate reality. Fox is disgusting for airing that bullshit.

For those keeping score at home, there have been zero (0) faithless electors so far.

California pushes Biden past 270 within the next half hour.
