What is the calculus for the Kaleigh McEnanys of the world in sticking with Trump? Feels like it's really a lapse in judgement here. For Trump, it makes sense to keep this going given (i) his narcissism; (ii) financial troubles; and (iii) legal troubles, but what's in it for the rest of them? These people could easily get well-paying jobs in the next few years while they cleanse themselves from Trump.

What does she have left?

I don’t see how a dem wins if their message is “Kamala isn’t fit to be president” in 2024. Who the heck is going to rally around the “our administration is far from perfect” cry?

She’s on deck and should run unopposed from anyone aside from your strong progressive candidate.

Really in that case, Biden should step aside early and let her be the incumbent.

But I don't see that happening if the party doesn't think that she's capable of carrying the states they need.

Kayleigh McEnany blows with the wind that benefits her. Google what she said about Biden in her previous incarnation. She could just as easily flip flop. Remember she once worked at CNN.

Right now I'm still celebrating w an occasional dip into concerns, worries.
like:

•What more damage can the orange asshat of mayheim cause before he leaves.
Hopefully he won't be in any shape for '24 w his health, diet etc

•Supreme Court, and others filled up with trumpests

•Eff'ng Mitch McConnell - we're not yet up to 50-50 are we?
And yes, I'll be donating to GA.

•The most violent neo-nazis, white supremacists, militias, anti immigrant, anti Muslim, anti Semetic, anti LGBTQI & extreme RW of any religious group especially here Christian Dominiasts <sp> . :yikes:

•The Anti Science crowd, and Climate Change deniers

I think I'm basically more left leaning than centerist - but not really a socialist. Definitely appreciate Democratic Socialism more & more which I know isn't socialism.
Getting us way more towards there; it's the strategy and tactics that concern me. How do we get there !

[As a certain character said, "there's a lot of things, if I could I'd rearrange ! ]

I guess that's enough for now. . :uhoh:

It might be possible to get a few things done even if for now the mostly cruel, and cowardly Republicans are here.
Each generation of white kids so far has become less and less racists.

If the Electoral College somehow does not certify Biden as president on December 14, then you know we are really living in 1930's Germany and it's time to GTFO.

Let's fucking hope not.

Esp those of us older, retired, and too poor to leave.

Idk, I think enough of the military would refuse to go along with shite like that.
Praying it'll NOT get that far.

I just find it hard to believe they would be this fucking brazen.

What, they think that all those people finally unclenching their jaws after 4 years of horror and pouring out into the streets in joy this weekend are going to say “cool beans, guess it’s back to Trump then”?

I read a bit of redstate every now and then just to see what reality trump supporters are living in, lot of comments of just waiting for the command from Trump to go into open insurrection.

I haven't been on that site itself, but someone who posts there apparently also posted at a TV site I frequent, and he was ranting about the election and I was reading through his Disqus posts in general and saw the stuff he said over at that redstate site. And he was definitely in "We need to arm ourselves and prepare for civil war!" mode. It was scary enough to the point where I quietly reported him to Disqus. Whether he gets removed or not, who knows, but it doesn't seem he's posting on the TV site anymore, thank goodness.

I am grateful for the Biden win as it stops Boris Johnson being too foolhardy with Brexit now that Trump will go, Biden has stated his opposition to anything that damages/affects the border in Ireland greatly. It also stems the tide of countries the world over going for the authoritarian autocrat figures.

Yeah, some of the people I talk to on the TV site mentioned above who live in Europe are really excited about this aspect, too.

it seems that the Qultists have convinced themselves that the four seasons debacle was entirely deliberate. you see, the crematorium next door to the landscaping business is where the deep state baby-eating satanist cabal is burning trump voters' ballots. and rudy was sending out a signal that this is the place that it's all going down.

because, you know, rudy giuliani is totally the type of person who communicates in subtle secret codes that only a select few people in the know will pick up on. rudy looking like a blubbering loser on national television was totally fake, just a genius move in an eternal game of 4D chess.

it also totally makes sense that if you know election fraud is happening RIGHT NOW in the building next door and all the media is assembled there, you would broadcast super-secret signals to a tiny fraction of a percentage of the public in advance of some undetermined future action to be done at some undetermined time, rather than just saying "hey you guys with all the cameras, go look in there".

i Qan't even

...lord  :coocoo: . The stupid, it burns...

It's just absolutely insane to me that they're getting this freaked out over Biden, of all people. Biden.

I'm just hoping that he'll be too busy with all his legal woes to even consider doing anything else. Like I said, I think one of the best things to do once Trump finally leaves office is for the media to just cut off giving him any kind of attention at all. Don't interview him, don't try and see what he's up to (unless he's facing some kind of trial/jail time, as that'd be pretty newsworthy), don't follow him if he does continue trying to tease some potential run in 2024, none of that. And Twitter can shut down his account as well. The less focus you give him, the harder it'll be for him to keep his momentum going, and hopefully, it can at least be a start to try and break his supporters of this cultlike support of him. There's still the other right-wing media outlets we'd have to deal with as well, but minimizing Trump's airtime and avenues to spread his nonsense certainly can't hurt.

Also, because it really cannot be said enough, go fuck yourself, McConnell. Let's hope that the judges continue to laugh these lawsuits out of court and tell these people to quit wasting their time.

They fired the guy who presented them from using the Insurrection Act right before doing this.

And they have the Supreme Court.

I'm probably just being paranoid. Then again

I am clinging to the belief that, if it gets that far, the Supreme Court still holds free and fair elections as a pillar of American democracy. I guess we will see.

Meanwhile, I just Googled how to transfer a US medical license to Canada.

This. I cannot imagine an incentive for the Supreme Court to blatantly undermine or deliberately destroy the legitimacy of our democratic election process. For the likes of Donald Trump?

They see Trump as a means to an end. A vessel.

They want power.

They have shit on every ideal and value they claim to hold dear

Yes, the United States electing an authoritarian wannabe is much more plausible than the Supreme Court throwing up their hands and saying "to hell with democracy."

Except for when said authoritarian wannabe has managed to polarize every single citizen (which justices of the Supreme Court in fact are) into picking a side.

Look at someone like Clarence Thomas or Brett Kavanaugh. These people have already signaled that they the citizen have picked a side. They’re tainted.

You can trust that the only one who hasn’t picked a side is the guy in the middle who is obsessed with the legacy of the court - the Chief Justice. The other one just died. Everybody else knows what’s up - you’re banking on someone like Alito hanging in there or Gorsuch turning his back.

This guy gets it

So again what is the incentive for nullifying an election? A generality like “they picked a side” isn’t an incentive.
