He really won’t like the Romney’s if that’s how it happened (which i think it’s very likely)

She’s been using McDaniel as her last name in the Trump era. She will switch back to Romney on 11/4.

So maybe someone will hire her again.

Like I’ve said a hundred times before, soon they will all be gaslighting us - nobody will have voted for Trump. Crickets...just like W who is now dead to them (because he is nice to Michelle Obama, making him a pussy).

Oops, that didn't work

(CNN)A federal judge late Friday blocked Texas Gov. Greg Abbott's directive that limited ballot drop boxes to one per county.

Several groups had filed suit over the controversial directive, issued last week, because they felt it would suppress voters -- particularly in larger counties.

Judge Robert Pitman agreed, writing, "By limiting ballot return centers to one per county, older and disabled voters living in Texas's largest and most populous counties must travel further distances to more crowded ballot return centers where they would be at an increased risk of being infected by the coronavirus in order to exercise their right to vote and have it counted."

Texas Democrats cheered the judge's order, calling it "common sense."

"Frankly, it ought to be a shock to all of us that such a ruling is even required," Texas Democratic Party Chair Gilberto Hinojosa said in a statement.

CNN reached out to Abbott's office for comment on Friday.

Ahead of the start of early voting in Texas on October 13, the directive had required large counties, regardless of population and area, to limit their number of drop-off locations for mail-in ballots to one. Abbott, a Republican, had argued the directive was necessary to ensure the drop boxes remained secure. But the judge said the risk of disenfranchising voters outweighed those concerns.

The judge was also troubled by Abbott's late change of policy and felt he needed to rule immediately.

"The public interest is not served by Texas's continued enforcement of a proclamation Plaintiffs have shown likely violates their fundamental right to vote," Pitman wrote.

Chris Christie was released from the hospital this morning. He says he will have more to say about his experience next week.

I'm sure he received all the special treatments for the ELITES. Just like Trump. Funny how they don't think things are elitist when it benefits them.

Yep. And we need to make sure that nobody falls for that again.

I was just about to post an article about the same thing shared in that tweet there, womanfish. It's almost like treating elderly people as sacrifices for our economy and doing nothing to save them in a health crisis is a major turn off for them or something. Gee. Who knew?

I love the use of golf carts for caravan purposes :). That's great.

Oops, that didn't work either

CBS News

A federal judge in Pittsburgh has thrown out the Trump campaign's challenges to the Pennsylvania Supreme Court's rulings in favor of ballot drop boxes and against out-of-county poll watchers.

The judge ruled Saturday that the campaign did not provide "concrete" evidence of impending voter fraud, only speculation on what could happen. The Trump campaign argued that they did not actually have to show there was fraud, only that it could easily occur.

"While Plaintiffs may not need to prove actual voter fraud, they must at least prove that such fraud is 'certainly impending.' They haven't met that burden," Judge Nicholas Ranjan of the Western District of Pennsylvania wrote in his decision.

Who is more honest/trustworthy? Last CNN poll:
Biden 58%, Trump 33%.
Early Oct. 2016: Trump 45%, Clinton 41%...

If he’s smart, and he is, he’ll use this to kick off his inevitable 2024 campaign by throwing Trump under a bus (or bridge) next week.

It’s too late for him. Anyone who opted to join Trump out of free will and not out of congressional alignment is forever marked with Trump. People like McConnell can get off, but people like Christie made a choice.

Yeah, I saw an interview with him on Colbert a while back where he acknowledged he was considering trying to work for Trump again in the future, and I remember thinking, "...after the way you were chewed up and spat out, you're STILL considering going back?" I don't think he has enough self-respect to turn on Trump. If he wants to prove otherwise, go for it, but I'd be very surprised if it happened.

Gotta say, I mind of like these quiet not much news weekends. Just A couple more days ticked off the calendar. 21 ways in Monday.

Martha McSally, the Arizona senator trailing the former Nasa astronaut Mark Kelly by a significant margin, attacked Trump for his repeated attacks on her predecessor, John McCain. “Quite frankly, it pisses me off when he does it,” she said in a debate this week.

Gee, I wish she and any other Republicans who shared similar sentiments had been stronger and more vocal in saying such things these past four years, then.

I would like to think and hope that if, indeed, the GOP does suffer a crushing loss next month, it will force them to regroup and reshape their party by kicking the crazies out and going in a much more sane and decent direction. I don't know how a party could suffer a loss that significant and NOT feel the need to look inward and see where they'd gone wrong, and try to right things.

But I'm not entirely holding my breath on that happening. And if they do refuse to change their ways and keep on with the route they're on now, and this winds up being the ultimate nail in the coffin for their party's future in general, well...cue Lindsay Graham's comments from 2016 about how they would deserve what happens.

Drip drip drip, the abject neglect to the point of criminality keeps leaking out

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention drafted a sweeping order last month requiring all passengers and employees to wear masks on all forms of public and commercial transportation in the United States, but it was blocked by the White House, according to two federal health officials.

The order would have been the toughest federal mandate to date aimed at curbing the spread of the coronavirus, which continues to infect more than 40,000 Americans a day. The officials said that it was drafted under the agency’s “quarantine powers” and that it had the support of the secretary of health and human services, Alex Azar, but the White House Coronavirus Task Force, led by Vice President Mike Pence, declined to even discuss it.

The real question now is the effect on downticket races.

I believe the presidential election has all the makings of a total blowout. Which is really, really well deserved.

Herd immunity is the trickle down economics of pandemics.

In theory it kinda makes sense, but execution it’s a disaster.

Atlas and others keep using Sweden as the model but even Sweden has better restrictions than we do. And they still suffered death and economic downfall. And if they achieved herd immunity than why are they going through the start of another infection wave ??

The US is the absolute worst place (of developed nations) to let a virus wash over.

Our healthcare sucks
Nearly 50% of society has a pre existing condition making covid much more severe And deadly
We don’t keep 100% of our elderly and vulnerable locked up, so the virus eventually reaches them and kills them
Because of our healthcare and corporate greed people can’t afford to take time off if sick so the cycle continues.

Getting Trump and his criminals out of White House will help, but i do wonder how Biden administration will truly fix our problems.

The positive i see is that the feds will have a plan and help out states

The negative is the GOP led states will refuse any mandate, and possibly financial or healthcare assistance.

Chris Christie's future was as the tell it like it is reasonable moderate republican.

Bridgegate and his chilling on the beach after closing it to the public sunk his political career. Hooking himself up to Trump was more or less all he had left. At least he kamikazed Rubio in the process.

His future consists of being a part time commenter on OAN.

Like Bono with his eyes on the cookie jar on the top shelf, Christie will reach higher.

After Trump, can we really say that anything will sink someone’s political career anymore? Trump raw dogged porn stars, threw babies in cages, and killed 210,000+ Americans. What’s a bridge closure so long as white people get their unqualified judges?

Fair, but if the republicans get curb stomped in November and lose everything you would have to imagine that they're going to have to go away and dream of all up again.

I see a moment for never trumpers to reclaim the party.

If they're still the same shit show come 2022 and 2024? I mean... I just can't see it being successful nationally.
