Words can't express how disgusting it is that our "President" attacks a deceased person and implies they're in hell, and attacks their widow right before her first Christmas without him. He is truly a sick individual.

But as his press secretary said, the really sad thing is how much the Trump family has suffered through this ordeal.

are we allowed to say it? good job, Democrats? and, good job, Nancy Pelosi?

it's been commented on that the GOP is the party of straight, white, christian men and the women who vote for them. it isn't hard to get them to fall into line, especially after all the "moderates" were booted out in 2018.

but the diverse Democrats -- a coalition of disparate groups -- are, by nature, much more difficult to get to agree on anything. and Pelosi delivered. undoubtedly, her long experience and political instincts paid off in dividends.

A Denver talk radio host has been fired after he said he wanted "a nice school shooting" to interrupt coverage of "the never-ending impeachment of Donald Trump." The firing came just hours after a father who lost his son in a school shooting in Colorado earlier this year said the host should be fired.

Chuck Bonniwell, cohost of a talk show on KNUS 710 AM, made the comments Tuesday afternoon coming back from a commercial break before being immediately interrupted by his cohost and wife Julie Hayden.

"No, no, don’t even say that!" Hayden said. "Don’t call us! Chuck didn’t say that."

Bonniwell immediately seemed to backtrack, saying he was talking about shootings in "which no one would be hurt."

KNUS announced Wednesday night that Bonniwell and his wife had been fired.

Some people are really fighting for a reserved spot in hell right now, aren't they?

Watching this Dem debate I don't understand how delusional you have to be to vote for Trump over any of these people. Even Amy Klobuchar, who I think made a wrong turn somewhere while heading to the '88 Republican convention.

I don’t comment in here often. Mostly just a lurker in this thread. But yeah, totally agreed with anitram.

Also, I think that Christian Democrats (like me!) are more common than people think in here, or at least anecdotally in the Seattle area.

Bangs still quivering but less obviously so. They used more hairspray.

But she got into a scrap with Mayor Pete. I don't know why he went to pick a fight with a woman who throws shoes at her staffers and thought that he could win.

I'm a Christian Democrat too, there are plenty.

I watched the debate, Joe Biden was the best he has been. I like Amy Klobuchar and I would vote for her. Don't give a rat's behind about her shaky bangs. I know it was a silly question, but it was quite revealing as CNN pointed out-the women were the only candidates to offer apologies. Also it was the female CNN commentators who pointed that out.

Senator Klobuchar raised half a million immediately after the debate last night, her best post debate fundraising.

I was one of those donors. That's box of wine level, not wine cave with Swarovski chandelier level. I donated to Warren too. I believe both are very intelligent and capable of being a very good President.

They're both from similar backgrounds and their personal experiences shaped their views and policies. Elizabeth Warren is going to be labeled as a far left liberal from Massachusetts and a socialist. Remember how many times the word socialist was used by Republicans in the impeachment hearings to refer to all Democrats? That's just the beginning.

Both of those women could beat Trump in any debate, but I guess that doesn't matter to too many people.

Does anyone know why Bloomberg wasn't in that debate?

Bloomberg probably didn’t meet enough polling and/or donor requirements prior to the debate’s deadline.

Give me a socialist left radical blah blah blah. Whoever the candidate is, whatever area of the spectrum they belong on, they should be unapologetic and not on the defensive from this dbag.

Good job Democrats and Nancy Pelosi! :applaud:

 had not heard about this.

Satan's Minion: "Ah, you two. Go down these 50 flights of stairs to a very special (cue scary gothic music) place in Hell".

Yes, they are the true victims
I'm breaking out 3 of my smallest violins. :|

Emails Show Trump Asked About Ukraine Aid Before Zelensky Call
Daniel Flatley 1 hr ago

(Bloomberg) -- New documents show President Donald Trump asked about U.S. military aid to Ukraine a month before the call with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy that went on to trigger the impeachment investigation into Trump.

The heavily-redacted documents, obtained under a Freedom of Information request by the Center for Public Integrity, also show that administration officials ordered a hold on the aid about an hour after the leaders’ call on July 25.

Trump asked about a June 19 article in the Washington Examiner newspaper referencing the aid. Michael Duffey, an official at the Office of Management and Budget, wrote to the Pentagon requesting more detail about the funding, according to an email from Duffey to the Pentagon comptroller.

“The President has asked about this funding release, and I have been tasked to follow-up with someone over there to get more detail.”

An email from Duffey to Deputy Secretary of Defense David Norquist on July 25, shortly after the Trump-Zelensky phone call, expressed uneasiness about the hold.

“Given the sensitive nature of the request, I appreciate your keeping that information closely held to those who need to know,” Duffey wrote.

Duffey, an OMB official working on national security issues, is one of four witnesses Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer has requested for the pending Senate trial of Trump on two articles of impeachment passed by the House of Representative this week.

i hope the GOP keeps using the word socialist to describe any and all of their opponents and continue to completely devalue the word to the point where some actual socialists get elected.

i've been watching the people vs oj simpson this week and it's pretty interesting to see some of the parallels between that case and this impeachment trial play out in real time.

in the sense that the prosecutors of a case that really seemed like it just had to be officially proven at the start allowed enough reasonable doubt to creep in that an obviously guilty defendant ends up not really facing justice.

I'm sure it's a complete coincidence that the aid was frozen 90 minutes after that perfect call.

It would have been even shorter but Trump's hamberders were brought to him by the WH chef.

Fascinating.

Former President Obama has reportedly been vouching for Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) to wealthy donors in an attempt to "rally the troops."

Obama, The Hill reports, has in recent months "gone to bat" for the Democratic presidential candidate to "donors reluctant to support her given her knocks on Wall Street and the wealthy," describing her behind the scenes as a capable contender and encouraging them to support her if she's the nominee.

"He obviously thinks she's very smart," a Democratic donor said. "He thinks her policy ideas matter. And I think he sees her running the campaign with the most depth."

Obama has not offered any 2020 endorsement and has made clear he'll stay out of the Democratic primary. Still, the Hill reports that those around Obama say he's concerned Democrats in financial services will, per one ally, "have an issue" with Warren as the nominee, hence his attempt to "rally the troops." One Obama source noted, however, he would do the same for any one of the 2020 Democrats.

This comes after a report that Obama in 2015 said that if voters rallied behind Warren, who helped set up the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau in his administration, it would be a "repudiation" of his economic policies. It also comes after a September report on the "far more combative relationship" between Warren and the Obama administration "than she usually discusses on the campaign trail."
