Five reasons I hate Chris Cillizza:

https://www.cnn.com/2020/02/02/politics/2020-election-week-ahead/index.html

“Five most likely Iowa outcomes”... he makes an article that literally has 5 bullet points of outcomes that are not mutually exclusive, and with sub-outcomes that pretty much, in summation, say that anything can happen. Here are his five most likely outcomes:

5. Klobuchar finishes top-3
4. Warren wins (or finishes in second)
3. Buttigieg wins (or finishes in second or third)
2. Biden wins
1. Sanders wins

Thanks asshole

That's right. I'm amazed that people here still seem to be confused as to what angle I'm coming from.

I think that's a bit disingenuous. I know you're a smart guy. So why would you ask for someone to explain what Clinton's accomplishments are, or how she paved the way for women that came after her in politics?

Both of those are more than obvious to anyone who isn't terribly uninformed, extremely biased or has their sexism showing.

So knowing you aren't uninformed, hopefully not sexist. What would prompt that question from you?

it's time for our quadrennial reminder that caucuses are really dumb

You beat me to it. This nonsense needs to end. Just let people vote and be done with it. Not only is Iowa (and NH) just a horribly unrepresentative state to start the process with, this sort of, Well the votes can be counted in 4 different ways, with several rounds of voting business is just stupid and really ends up letting every candidate that lands under the top spot make some sort of argument that they did much better than the results would indicate.

It's also run at night so anyone who works a night shift gets no vote. No mail in either, so military is cut out.

It's really dumb and I'm not sure anyone in Iowa actually likes it. The Iowa Democratic Party is the reason it stays. Without it, Iowa becomes meaningless. Needs to go to closed primary (so GOP folk can't sabotage), and get more states this first week.

I predict......pain....and

Bernie 1st
Warren 2nd
Biden 3rd

Impeachment "hasn't shaken my faith in being able to work with at least" some Republicans, Biden told "TODAY" show co-anchor Savannah Guthrie in an interview before Monday's Iowa caucuses.

"I think you're going to see the world change with Trump gone," Biden added.

That is some next level delusion right there.

It's disqualifying.

But he's the only one that Trump is terrified to run against.

Given Trump's recent behaviour, I think Bloomberg also terrifies him. Probably because he's an actual billionaire (nothing else matters to the Donald but money).

Agreed, and Biden should be terrified as well of Bloomberg.
You get Bloomberg in the debates and flooding airwaves in every state and Biden may very well whither away even if he makes it to Super Tuesday in a strong position.

In the end, Bloomberg may very well be opening the door to a Bernie victory, which i'm sure was not his intention.

No way its a Bernie/Warren, one/two.

Bernie looks like he is surging there at the right time and will most likely take the top spot He's already siphoned off a good chunk of Warren supporters. And because of this, Warren is gonna get a lot of people jumping ship from her over to Sanders tonight.
Biden most likely second, but it will remain to be seen if people that shift from Pete go mainly to Biden or mainly to Bernie or split sort of evenly. And do Amy K's supporters stick with her or shift some. She is also surging, but from a lower starting point.

I think we see
Bernie around the low 30's
Biden low 20's
Pete 12ish
Warren 10ish
Amy 8ish
Yang 6ish
Others....

I have to disagree (somewhat) Yes it is pie in the sky, but a couple things to consider.

1. Biden is running as the moderate, "let's reach across the isle" candidate. Like it or not, A candidate that reaches across the isle and work together instead of continuing further partisan divide is one of the highest percentage responses in polls. So he's playing that card.

2. In that statement Biden said he thinks he could still work with "some" of them. I think that's probably true.
When Trump is gone. You will see change. What exactly that change will be is hard to determine. The fog of the cult brainwashing will wear off because the cult leader will be gone. It will also depend on what happens in Senate races in 2020. If repubs get smacked down. Their sweaty orange leader is gone. You may very well see some that work on certain pieces of legislation if they see it in their political interest.

I'm in no way saying any Repubs would actually suddenly do the right thing because it's right. But if it is for their own protection of staying in power, then yes.

“The president is lying. He a pathological liar who lies about everything: his fake hair, his obesity, and his spray-on tan.”
-Mike Bloomberg

This... this is the content I expect.

Also good to see this from Bloomberg Advisor:
"When you get inside Donald Trump’s head, all you’re going to discover that you find there is a putter, a cheeseburger, a porn video, and somebody else’s credit card.”

Makes me sort of want to see those two on the debate stage together... :D

I think that there is a lot of wishful thinking there.

Trump wasn't in office when McConnell shat on Merrick Garland. Or hey, let's go even further, when he declared that the single most important thing was to make Obama a one-term president.

More troubling is the laying of all the ills at Trump's feet. He is just a symptom of a very serious disorder in the American society and pretending like when he goes away things will suddenly change is wishing it weren't the case.

all good points.
It's almost like some of the shittiest people on earth, were just waiting for THE shittiest person on earth to lead them to even shittier horizons.

The absolute write off of Biden by pundits on MSNBC at the moment, before a ballot has been cast is fairly striking.

will be pretty interesting to see results tonight.

Someone go get the clip of Donald Trump praising Hillary Clinton as Secretary of State and ask gzus our lord and savior what he thinks

This may come as a shock to you but I don’t care what Donald Trump thinks about Hillary Clinton.

Strange think happens when you use your own brain to make decisions....I can think Donald Trump is a disgusting human being, a narcissist who deserves to be impeached, yet agree with many of his policies because yes, they have worked. Our economy is better, our trade policies with other countries are better for America, and yes we need judges who make decisions based on what the Constitution says , not their own feelings.

Oh and by the way, his foreign policy stands have caused both North Korea and Iran to back down.

Both Neil Gorsuch and Brett Kavanaugh have sided with liberal justices on cases, why? Because they think for themselves and are originalists. I won’t hold my breath for any of the liberal justices to break ranks and agree with the more conservative justices simply because they might agree. They would be skewered.

I’m ready for Trump to be removed from office. I would like a President Pence followed by a President Haley very well, thank you.

You can keep Biden, Sanders and Warren.

donald trump and his big brained foreign policy genius got iran to back down from the brink of war last month...

...by unilaterally ripping up a treaty that iran was fully complying with that ensured in writing by independent international oversight that their nuclear program wasn't building weapons.

so far entrance polls look like they would be a good thing for Biden or Amy.

Skews older, slightly more on the moderate side than liberal

65 to 35% want someone to beat Trump over someone's specific policies

Almost 16% more female voters.

Think about what you’re saying here.

The “originalists” sided with the more “liberal” judges, hence the others didn’t think for themselves, but you don’t foresee the other judges siding with the partisans who can’t think for themselves? Talk about feelings...

If you're using your brain to think. You would realize that the economy under Trump is no better than it was under Obama. On the same trajectory, actually slightly worse in some areas. Trade has been an absolute disaster. Billions of dollars of higher prices for American consumers, 30 some billion paid out to farmers (Yikes! Socialism!!) to make up slightly for lost income. Even after tariffs are lifted they will have lost the buyers to other markets. They are being decimated across the midwest. Even hog farms in my state TN.

His schoolgirl demeanor with violent dictators, scrapping the Iran deal which was working,. and pretty much getting embarrassed by Kim Jung Un.
It's a shitshow and really pathetic how weak we look in the world now.

So using that brain, you can see that you can have a good economy, good relations with our allies, and proper relations with dictators, and have all of that without having a disgusting narcissist that commits impeachable offenses over and over again.
