apparently it's international news this evening that a certain famous nazi uses racial slurs. i'm just as shocked by this revelation as i'm sure the rest of you are.

CNN etc. couldn't have figured that out before giving him a juicy platform? The main takeaway from this is how much of a petulant child he comes across as, and that there should be no debate regarding whether he deserved to be punched or not.

Agreed. Even if he does that, he and his family still need to be held accountable somehow. We cannot let them squeak by with no consequences yet again.

Even if he were to get some kind of crazy immunity deal on the charges he's facing for the Russia stuff, though, there's plenty of state charges for crimes of his that go back for quite a number of years that he could be nailed on, right? I don't think an immunity deal on the Russia stuff would protect him from that.
I fecking sure hope so!!!
Don't know if this person's supposition was only talking about the federal level. I'm afraid he'll demand immunity on all gov't levels.

And i think he's such a threat i'd still want him gone!
However if that happens...I wouldn't be totally surprised that he'd (and family) would go ahead and commit more crimes that since many more people are now alerted to his various criminal behaviors that some very sharp eyed legalistic people would be watching them for future transgressions he/they can be nailed on.

:sigh:

So Trump can act like a total ass and BE A FUCKING CRIMINAL and that's perfectly okay, people will happily vote for him anyway. But God forbid a woman running for office be anything less than likeable. And the really sad part is, she could be the most "likeable" person on the planet and it still wouldn't be enough for some.

Sexism wins the day once again :|. We're never going to get a female president at this rate, it seems.
It will change at some point, otherwise you and I et al wouldn't even be able to vote! I hope and wish it's sooner than later.... :sigh:

My guess for first woman President is Nikki Haley in 2024, although I would love to see her at the top of the Republican ticket in 2020
Oh, pleeeease - hand me my barf bag!

You do realize that we (most of us) women aren't going to just vote for any ole woman especially an anti-choice Repuglican who'll also go on further shredding the safety net for the more and most vulnerable of Americans. And probably continue other hideous Repuglican policies! Fuck that!!!!!

EIiaApZXUAECVC7
I'm going remind y'all of a study of the college population that showed that if you were raised in an authoritarian household you were more than likely to vote for someone like Trunp - even tge college educated.. That could also be a smallish but crucial factor in certain districts. :(

i have a real question. An honest to goodness question, that would seem like hyperbole or sarcasm, but it truly is not.

Do you think there is anything, anything that Trump is involved with that is actually honest and/or legitimate? Every day, there are multiple news stories, dozens of social media posts, new books released, all detailing corrupt, shady, slimy, criminal actions connected to Trump.

Just look at this random post, that will just get browsed over and forgotten because it is one thing among dozens of disgusting things that you will read about him that day.

You see why Trump is doing anything he can to stop his tax returns and financials from being seen. And the way it is all wound up in so many different schemes, its just so fucking depressing.

2020 looking unlikely for the first female prez.

But I agree with Gzusfrk, it may not be far away. Not at all.

Buckle up dazz ;)

Definitely a pass on Haley... but at least she would be a return to intelligence and statesmanship. And I don’t mean statesmanship in the sense of some chivalrous bullshit. I mean “not fucking up everything relating to foreign policy.”

Does Kyle Griffin actually have any opinions ("opinions mine") or does he just regurgitate news articles?

His girth is real.

Everything else is fraudulent, and has been forever. There were people who pointed out that he was a mobbed up con man prior to the election. That everything about him is fake.

Alas, he had a reality show that said he was rich and successful. He's the big fat Kardashian president that our fucked up nation deserves.

Let's think about just how fucked up we are right now.

Please allow us to first go back to a simpler time. The year is 1994. The Houston Rockets are playing the New York Knicks in the NBA Finals, because Michael Jordan was banned from the NBA for a year for gambl... err... decided to try baseball.

As the anticipation for Game 5 of the Finals is growing, a news story starts to unfold. A middle aged entertainment lawyer reads the alleged suicide note of a beloved football player/Hollywood star turned double murder suspect. The former football player apparently held a gun to his head earlier that day in the bedroom of the lawyer's daughter, as Ross Geller would later reveal to us years later.

Meanwhile, uptown from the arena where the game will be played that night, a middle aged former real estate developer has bankrupted his casino business and is nothing more than a socialite desperate to hang on. And apparently hanging out with Jeffrey Epstein and raping a 13 year old.

Fast forward 25 years - the daughter whose room OJ almost blew his brains out is famous for... ? ... being the daughter of a friend of a double murder and blowing Ray J. The socialite is president, and the only major piece of bipartisan legislation to pass over his desk was signed because the entertainment lawyer's daughter happened to marry a bipolar rapper who wants to make america great again.

And this is why we're here.

The GOP are going to pivot to “crime isn’t a crime”

That’ll be their defense.

Or i suppose just blatantly refuse to see, hear, or speak of any facts that have come out.

It’s all a conspiracy against Trump

Can we say it?

Good job, Democrats?

What’s the secret sauce? Could it be this, from the NYT:

Mr. Beshear, a 41-year-old moderate whose father preceded Mr. Bevin in the governor’s mansion, sidestepped questions about Mr. Trump and impeachment while keeping his distance from national Democrats. He focused squarely on Mr. Bevin’s efforts to cut health care and overhaul the state’s pension program while drawing attention to the governor’s string of incendiary remarks, including one that suggested striking teachers had left children vulnerable to molestation.

That was the theme of the 2018 mid terms

Moderates are the ones who flipped seats across the Midwest and South.

Trump campaign is already slandering the new Governor as a Republican in disguise and not a real Democrat (despite slandering him as a socialist in their adverts)

I’m a bit torn on the 2020 stage because i would like Warren, but if she cannot win those five to six battleground states where Biden can.....then it needs to be Biden.

The goal has to be get rid of Trump.

We need to realize that “the base” in the Trump years are suburban voters. And suburban voters generally like their health care.

I agree. Under normal circumstances I’d probably lean towards Warren our Bernie but for me, the #1 goal is to remove the orange traitor.

Kamala Harris just released a breathtakingly stupid proposal to increase the length of the school day in order to reduce productivity losses for parents at work. Just reading it has me looking for the nearest window to toss my computer out of.

As a parent, I’m actually intrigued but haven’t been able to check it out yet.

Also need to point out that Bevin lost in large part because of.... You guessed it, that suburban areas where KY borders Cincinnati OH. Used to be fairly reliably Red, but two counties went blue and one other was light pink.

I know that after the initial feeling of we have to vote for the person that can beat Trump (when the primary season first started) It sort of shifted to, we really need to vote someone who will energize the left base and vote for BIG change!
Now, I feel like its swinging back a bit again. People are seeing that 2020 win isn't in the bag, and in fact, could be way to close for comfort.

We just can't have Trump have 4 more years. End of story, period, bottom line, no arguments can justify it.
So I will keep my attention on how things progress. But as of now, if Warren is going to continue with the M4A direction she is going now, i'm not sure I can comfortably support her. Obviously if she is the nominee yes, i will donate, knock on doors, call bank, etc...

But I think she is misreading the times here. The times are desperate. And the voters want calm, reliable, normalcy again.
People obviously see Biden this way. I think Pete is getting better numbers because he is offering that as well.
So Im not sure what Warren does here to stay on the trajectory that she was. Maybe it means her giving a plan of expanding Obamacare first, and then going to work on a single payer plan after. I don't know. I just know that if she keeps hammering at this, i think she will stall out.

I take it you don't have kids.

A thousand percent.

I haven't found the actual bill but just read a few articles on the proposal. It's not actually extending the school day, rather looking to establish a sort of "aftercare for all" program - which is an unbelievably good idea, and one that will resonate with every single household where both parents work.

The only shame of it is that it's coming from a candidate who doesn't have a snowball's chance in hell of winning.

Omg yes please! Right now I have my daughter in a before school YMCA program for $200 per month while posting for my son’s daycare as well. Any kind of support in this area would be huge.

according to this poll, bevin was winning by almost 16 points as recently as last weekend, before trump made an appearance at bevin's rally on monday. make of that what you will.

also for all you who are freaking out about suburban voters and swing states, delaware county PA just went democrat for the first time since the civil war, and it was damn near a clean sweep. make of that what you will.
