Warren is in her 70s, but she understands how to run a campaign in the modern age. She raised nearly the same $ as Biden in the last quarter and did so without a single fundraiser and without corporate support.

Aides pointed to Warren's response in May to an Alabama bill that attempted to largely revoke abortion rights. After the state Senate passed the legislation on a Tuesday night, Warren and her policy team finalized a proposal to codify Roe v. Wade on the federal level by Thursday, in time for a Friday media rollout. Meanwhile, Warren reached out personally to abortion rights groups, and the in-house team prepared graphics, social media content, ads, and emails. None of these moves is unique to Warren, but the campaign sees its set-up as a way to move faster in an era that rewards speed.

I agree that the youth in this country are more compassionate, forward thinking, and more adaptable than ever

But if they don’t vote, it won’t matter.

It’s really disheartening to watch the old guard Peolsi go after the younger members. While politics isn’t as binary as some make it out to be, she’s done more to harm her own party than to Trump.

Dems couldn’t even keep a date for Mueller, moving it back to the 24th which is right before recess.

Unfortunately impeachment isn’t in the cards anymore, so all effort must be made to get voters out in such large numbers no shenanigans can stop it

We need record numbers for blacks, Hispanics, and the youth

And i still am leery it can be done

Yea. Don't be fooled. Millennials may be more progressive, but the generation coming behind them?

The number of Americans 18 to 34 who are comfortable interacting with LGBTQ people slipped from 53% in 2017 to 45% in 2018 – the only age group to show a decline, according to the annual Accelerating Acceptance report. And that is down from 63% in 2016.

Driving the dilution of acceptance are young women whose overall comfort levels plunged from 64% in 2017 to 52% in 2018, says the survey conducted by The Harris Poll on behalf of LGBTQ advocacy group GLAAD.

“We count on the narrative that young people are more progressive and tolerant,” John Gerzema, CEO of The Harris Poll, told USA TODAY. “These numbers are very alarming and signal a looming social crisis in discrimination.”

Not so much. That hatred and bigotry have been made mainstream is having an absolute trickle down impact. We're in deep shit.

The president literally said today that brown skinned congresswomen should go back to where they came from. Will there be protests in the street? Nah. We'll be fake mad and do nothing.

Our country is a shit hole.

Yeah, that's another problem. People are too busy doomsaying and throwing up our hands and acting like it's just inevitable nothing can be done, and I'm really kind of tired of that defeatist attitude. It'd be really nice to hear more talk about things we can do to try and fight back against this crap. I think it's clear at this point that protests alone aren't enough to stop this insanity-not to say we shouldn't keep doing them when and where possible, of course, but there does need to be more action alongside that. What are people doing to try and encourage young people to vote, for instance, and how can we get involved to further make that a reality? Are there ways people can get involved to try and combat any attempts at voter suppression? What kinds of ways can we use technology to our advantage to combat all the awful stuff coming from the other side?

Just throwing a few possible topics of discussion out there, at least. Even if we don't have any definite solutions yet, I'd much rather be talking about that stuff than sitting here going through another round of, "Our country's screwed and the Democrats suck and there's nothing more we can do.", 'cause that's not exactly the attitude we should be having right now.

I mean, seriously, people keep dumping on the Democrats for not doing enough, or not doing things the right way, and I won't argue one bit that they need to get their shit together. But we voters share the blame as well, and we need to learn to sort ourselves out, too. I know this administration is exhausting as hell, but giving up and resigning ourselves to a bleak future isn't exactly the attitude we should be having right now.

Some theories on this have tonso wirh thr increased emphasis on the “T” and the non-binary aspects of queer culture.

Understanding that gay people are people is one thing; but attempting to fully theorize gender out of existence might be a bridge too far for some?

I dunno.

It's interesting that you say that because anecdotally it's been my experience in my line of work (as part of my portfolio, I advise on corporate/board diversity matters). People seem to push back very strongly and viscerally on matters such as, for example, a company changing the HR self-identifiers to "cis" pronouns. Even people you'd consider progressive are very against it in my personal experience. And so it goes to almost everything "T"-related. And it is not surprising to me at all that it's women's support which has plummeted - it is really the inevitable conclusion if you think about it for more than a minute.

Actual trans people aren’t trying to do away with the entire concept of gender though. It makes absolutely no sense if your argument is that you are the opposite gender than you were born as, to say there is no such thing as gender. Mainstream-wise you get a lot of people grouping Me Too/ “toxic masculinity” with trans issues into a confused soup where people think gender non-conformity is the same thing as being trans. Doing away with gender is not the same thing as saying boys can be more feminine or girls can like sports. Yes, there’s a loud, vocal, minority of purple haired, attention-seeking clowns is saying all that “smash the binary” nonsense, but they’re usually the same unwashed terfs who have always been saying that shit for years (not unlike the white supremacists that have always been around, they’ve just been amplified as of late during this crackhead timeline in which Trump is actually president of the US), or it’s kids from that exact generation that’s supposedly becoming more conservative claiming to be non-binary demi-asexual pan-boi (not a real thing at all, they’re just today’s version of the 14 year old goth girls who weren’t popular in 80s movies). Cis people on the periphery are conflating these things either out of ignorance, or out as an easy way to point and say “this has gone too far! look at these crazy people! They want to give hormones to children!” This is also not a thing that’s happening, no one is giving hrt to 5 year olds just like no one reasonable in favor of immigration reform is saying open all the borders and let everyone in no questions asked. You know, it’s almost like it’s a complicated issue with nuance or something.

Trump is going all in on identity politics. Going to make Democrat’s focus on race vs any other issue

Any other candidate shows themselves to be a racist and it over, but with our media and Trump i feel it works in his favor

Also, I don’t agree with “the squad” on everything, but goddammit am I fit to be tied over this nasty racist filth coming from the anus on Trump’s face.

And let’s not kid ourselves — he wants to run against these four next year, and he is going to do everything he can to turn the Democrats into the Socialisr party of AOC. That’s what this is all about — and this is the kind of campaign he’s going to run.

As he did in 2018 with the MS-13 Ebola caravan. And which failed spectacularly in the suburbs where democrats ran moderate, smart candidates. It will fail again.

Lindsey Graham is really a head scratcher. You have to think it's something really dark at this point. Nobody would really care that he's gay, or at least, nobody would be surprised. So it has to be considerably worse, like involving children or outright treason or something of that variety.

Trump will run against the Squad just like the Republicans have been running against Nancy Pelosi, and Hillary Clinton for like 20 years. It's straight out of their playbook.

The media needs to stop hanging on every piece of fecal matter that tumbles out of his mouth. Let's get back to that pervert Epstein and every single pervert that he can bring down with him. Stick with that story like white on rice. And for God's sake, stop bringing Bill Clinton into it as a justification. Oh what if he was involved? Well, then throw him under the first goddamn bus you see coming. As should be the answer for everyone. Would be nice to start with that dirtbag Dershowitz.

Agree with the bill talk

Difference between Dems and GOP is that if Bill did something criminal, we will want him in jail. If it’s Trump or someone else on the other side, they’ll continue to run them for office

Yeah, setting up the 2020 run. :crack::angry::sad:
Because i don't have cable channels TV i only saw little snippets of i rhe Jon Stewart Showelsewhere.

But one of my favorite routines was to the effect of:

Have We Hit Bottom Yet!!?!

I think you might be right that it will fail. I sure HOPE so.

and just a few hours ago?
Most House Republicans ,and Steny Hoyer  asked her pointed remarks about Trump's uber racist tweets to be struck from the record. She had consulted with the Parliamentarian. And it further dissolved ibto chaos. My eyes began to glaze over reading about it- i will go back later.

Btw the way....
what is "tonso"?

Be back in a while.

Pretty sure “tonso wirh thr” is just phone typo for “to do with the” since every weird letter is next to a correct letter/n is close to the space bar in that.

The only positives to come out of this horrific presidency are: (i) the complete unveiling of evangelicals as frauds, (ii) being able to put to rest that Trump was voted in by people with "economic anxiety", (iii) the recognition that the GOP is rotten to the core, every last one of them.
