We went from "total exoneration" to "total bullshit" in record time.
It's really setting a nice tone on Good Friday to be ranting on Twitter about "total bullshit." Not that a single Evangelical Republican will take offence.
Though I recently spoke with an American client, this guy is a now retired CEO of a very well known company, super wealthy, very proud Trump voter. But he now told me that he doesn't support him anymore because of "the porn star lies". I was totally flabbergasted - I mean that's the stuff that we all knew about for certain before the election. And THIS is where he's now drawing the line? But it's quite possible that among the ultra wealthy country club Republicans he's now become far too gauche to continue to support.

Here's the problem. Dems will start in hearings, subpoena a ton of info, get stuff cleared through court filings, etc... By that time we are talking about things rolling along around fall maybe...
primary votes start in the winter. By that time, we are fighting to kick him out via the vote. It will be like 8 months until the presidential election. While i totally agree, this is all impeachable, I just don't know what they should do with this time line. It actually makes me sick to my stomach. What the report shows is that Mueller is even hinting like - Hey, this is impeachable. Remember, you can impeach, and this prick can still face criminal charges after he's gone... etc...
I think Barr should be removed, it would show that he was flat out lying about the report. I just no longer have any faith in the electorate. I feel like I live in an alternate universe with people that could support a person that I think may be one of the most disgusting people to ever walk the face of the earth. But Pat from Ohio will say, eh, I got a 50 dollar tax cut, so Trump has my vote!
Maybe if they keep dripping out bad information, maybe if they get something good from the tax returns.. I don't know. Maybe it will chip away at some common sense independents.

Biden is announcing Wednesday.
I still am a Biden backer at this point. I can't stand to listen to Beto anymore. His speech voice, just grates on me, and I don't see him having any real substance with what he says. I have kinda fallen a little flat with Harris. She's good. Fine. But i don't see her doing what needs to be done electorally. She's not going to win back the midwest, she's not gonna flip Florida. Maybe she could pick up NC. who knows.
I'm a big fan of Mayor Pete. I do think he could has some great strengths. But it is a little late for him to win any strong minority voter support as a top of the ticket candidate.
I know I've said it before. But there is no question that Biden would win back WI, MI and PA. I think with the right VP pick, he could play strongly in FL, pick up NC and even put GA in play. At this point, i don't give a shit about true progressive nonsense. I want this orange dickhole out of office and we can move on from there.

Agreed 100%. I don’t know that the Dems winning the White House in 2020 is anywhere close to guaranteed. Time to send a message with impeachment proceedings.
We shouldn’t be scared of his base either. They aren’t going to turn on him.
We need to get independents, and GOP voters who can’t stand Trump against him even more. Keep shining lights on what he’s done and doing.

I would love to see Trump impeached and removed from office, but it's not going to happen. Even if he is impeached, no way in Hell will you get enough Republicans in the Senate to remove him from office. The only way Trump gets removed is from a heart attack caused from all his hamberders or the Dems win in 2020.

I actually think Trump loses 2020 by a narrow margin and refuses to leave office calling it rigged. And forces the country to sit through months of litigation.

So surreal. I was feeling weirder last night, and couldn't place my finger just on it besides the obvious, when it dawned on me earlier today, that most of you only remember Clinton's impeachment, perhaps for some a vauge memory because you were really young of Nixon.
But i remember both cleary, and i think the thought of a third one (which i think should happen) is extra surreal !

Yep. Everything with Nixon happened ten years before I was born. I was 14 years old when Clinton's happened, and all I really remember of it are just whatever I heard on the radio during news reports (and of course, I've seen the "I did not have sexual relations with that woman" clip), as well as a LOT of late night jokes. I may have seen/heard more, but if I did, I'm blanking on it.
But yeah, it's very interesting looking at and comparing the circumstances surrounding Nixon and Clinton to this, and the response of both parties then and now.
